    About the Role

    As the Grants and Compliance Manager, you will play a central role in overseeing WRLD’s compliance framework and financial management activities. This position is crucial in ensuring legal and regulatory compliance, managing risk, and safeguarding the foundation’s integrity. You will collaborate closely with the Board of Directors and external partners to ensure that our grantmaking processes, donor management, and impact assessments align with compliance standards and best practices.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Compliance Oversight: Ensure adherence to all relevant legal and regulatory requirements, including 501(c)(3) compliance, tax filings, and external reporting.
    • Financial Management: Oversee budgeting, financial planning, grant disbursements, and overall financial management to align with WRLD’s strategic goals.
    • Grant Administration: Manage the entire grantmaking process, including due diligence, grant selection, financial tracking, and ongoing monitoring of grantee compliance.
    • Risk Management: Develop and implement internal controls to identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks, ensuring ethical conduct and operational transparency.
    • Legal Documentation: Coordinate with external legal counsel to ensure that all agreements, policies, and legal documents are up to date and compliant.
    • Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain strong relationships with donors, partners, and grantees, ensuring clear communication and alignment with WRLD’s mission.
    • Reporting: Prepare comprehensive reports on financial performance, compliance status, and risk management for the Board of Directors and other stakeholders.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Law, Public Administration, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
    • Minimum 5-10 years of experience in grants management within a nonprofit or philanthropic organization.
    • Strong understanding of US and international regulations affecting donor-funded grants and the ability to navigate complex compliance frameworks.
    • Proven expertise in financial oversight, budgeting, and grant administration, including experience managing international grants.
    • Demonstrated experience in risk management, internal controls, and legal compliance within a grant making context.
    • Exceptional communication skills, with proficiency in English (additional language skills such as Spanish are advantageous).
    • High degree of integrity, objectivity, and attention to detail in all aspects of work.
