    Role Description:

    Swipe Out Hunger is seeking a strategic, impact-driven leader to serve on the leadership team as our Vice President of Mission Impact. This role will drive our programs, advocacy, and community engagement strategy, ensuring alignment with our mission to end student hunger. The VP of Mission Impact will lead a cross-functional team that includes Programs, Advocacy, and the building of a new department - Community Engagement, in implementing high-impact initiatives, measuring program effectiveness, and fostering key partnerships to maximize social change.

    The team is looking for an individual that leads with care and has strong translation skills - from vision to implementation. The ideal candidate has a proven track record in program leadership, involvement in strategic planning, and an understanding of advocacy efforts. The departments served by this position will benefit from an individual that has strong data analysis skills to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement.

    Responsibilities and Tasks:

    • Strategic Leadership & Mission Development
      • Develops organizational goals and strategic plans for mission impact, balancing long-term direction and short-term requirements.
      • Collaborate with key cross‐functional stakeholders, both internally and externally, to identify and prioritize programs and services that align with Swipe’s mission priorities.
      • Oversee the development and testing of mission initiatives, continually evaluating and enhancing strategies and execution to drive mission impact and outcomes.
      • Ensure new and existing strategies have well defined objectives and achievable outcomes, creating program measurement tools, overseeing data collection and evaluating impact and outcomes.
      • Develop national evaluation strategies to determine reach, reliability, impact, and return on investment of new and existing initiatives.
      • Disseminate evaluation findings to internal stakeholders, community partners, potential donors, and the education community. Provide data‐driven feedback to inform continual improvement.
      • Collaborate with the Development team to facilitate donor development/partnerships, contribute to grant proposals, and solicit support from industry and partners, as appropriate.
      • Collaborate with key stakeholders externally to develop and maintain collaborative research and innovative partnerships, to further the mission of Swipe Out Hunger.
      • Work with Philanthropy and Operations teams to forecast needs and timing to ensure mission success.
      • Negotiate contracts and purchase orders with product suppliers as needed.
    • Team Leadership & Management

      • Lead and support all Mission Impact staff, as one holistic department, bridging the value, needs and experience for each valued employee in a unified manner.
      • Create, monitor and manage department budgets, maintaining strict controls and integrity of expenses, reimbursements and usage of Swipe Out Hunger resources.
      • Supervise and coordinate overall administrative and operational tasks necessary for a high‐performing and productive department.
      • Maintain a thorough understanding of Swipe Out Hunger’s programs, activations, campaigns, internal processes, and operations.
      • Complete ad hoc projects as assigned or other duties as needed.
      • Attendance at and occasional travel to may be required for events and Swipe‐related appearances, including occasional nights and weekends.

    Required Qualifications:

    • 7+ years of leadership experience in nonprofit programs, advocacy, or impact-driven roles.
    • Bachelor’s degree in public administration, business, or other related field
    • Exceptional leadership, conflict resolution, and communication skills.
    • Passion for Swipe Out Hunger’s mission and a deep commitment to social justice and food security.
    • Demonstrated ability to operate effectively at both strategic and tactical levels
    • Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail
    • Unwavering in integrity, professionalism and confidentiality
    • Proven ability to lead projects and accomplish goals through a collaborative, consensus driven manner
    • Strong project management skills and experience creating work plans and setting and meeting clear expectations and deadlines
    • Highly proficient in software and online systems such as; Zoom, Microsoft Office Suite, Slack, Google Drive, and other office‐related software

    Compensation & Benefits:

    This is a full-time, exempt position with a salary of $105,000 (based on experience). Swipe Out Hunger provides a supportive benefits package, including:

    • 401(k) retirement matching after six months of tenure.
