    Description

    We’re looking for an individual with a strong interest in nonprofit management and looking to build their leadership skills and experience. Sprouts Chef Training is a group of inspired team members all over the US thriving in a high-growth, virtual environment who gather in SF, NYC, and Philadelphia for semi-annual events. You will support Sprouts’ Founder and upper management to lead a team of passionate stakeholders on an unforgettable impact growth journey. You will also collaborate with board members and chef partners such as Alice Waters and Michael Bauer to engage corporate partners, chefs, nonprofit partners, and funders.

    Chef Training Program Overview

    We help Bay Area youth experiencing hardship achieve stability and financial autonomy through life skills coaching and restaurant internships. Youth pair with chef mentors and case managers to develop the skills needed to secure and maintain a culinary job. Since 2012 dozens of youth have used their skills to get off the streets, pay for higher education, become chefs, access new professions, or support family members. We believe in a Bay Area where all youth have access to fulfilling career pathways.

    Responsibilities

    Strategic Planning and Growth

    • Partner with the Founder and upper management to implement organizational vision, strategic goals, and growth plans
    • Pro-actively ideate, implement, and execute effective systems to track and report scaling progress across all departments
    • Contribute to the development and execution of multi-year strategic plans in a nonprofit and high-growth environment

    Team Leadership and Management

    • Meet with team members on weekly basis to provide guidance and timely feedback
    • Organize and lead weekly team meetings to cultivate community and cohesion between departments
    • Maintain consistent pulse on team morale and personal development goals; implement activities to create community and streamlined communication
    • Provide regular guidance and feedback to team members to support their professional development
    • Help Founder and upper management recruit, interview, hire, onboard and retain team members

    Operational Excellence

    • Project manage across all departments, including development, programming, events, and marketing/social media to ensure timely and efficient execution of tasks
    • Utilize data analytics tools to track performance metrics and inform decision-making
    • Develop and maintain efficient operational systems to support scaling and long-term sustainability
    • Explore and implement necessary updates and adjustments to current tools to optimize operational efficiencies and reduce administrative work and ensure cross-departmental coordination
    • Ensure compliance with nonprofit regulations, employment laws, and financial oversight requirements

    Board and Stakeholder Engagement

    • Work with Founder to maintain a strong board; build board involvement with strategic direction for both ongoing local operations as well as for the national rollout
    • Work with Founder and upper management to solicit corporate sponsorship and institutional program partners
    • Optional opportunities to give speeches and presentations at various events, representing Sprouts in the community

    Skills and Requirements

    • Proven team leadership and motivation skills
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to manage relationships across a wide range of stakeholders
    • Action-oriented, entrepreneurial, adaptable with a focus on strategic outcomes
    • Expertise in project management and building systems to drive operational efficiency
    • Ability to thrive in an at-home, virtual office environment
    • Passion, positive attitude, mission-driven, and self-directed
    • 4+ years of experience leading a team and project management

    Locations and Hours

    30-40 hours per week, often remote, schedule and hours determined by applicant and team schedules. Preference given to applicants who can travel to the Bay Area, NYC, and/or Philadelphia twice a year.

    Commitments and Contract Period

    Starting Date Window: February 2025 - February 2026

    Compensation

    • $80-110K, depending on experience
