    Job Functions

    • Responsible for redactory and production of ABCT Journals and publications including Behavior Therapy, Cognitive and Behavioral Practice, and the Behavior TherapistLiaison with editors and editorial staff
    • Oversee all manuscripts, non-manuscript material, and advertising
    • Copyedit all published ABCT material to fit APA style and communicate with authors accordingly
    • Layout and design for the Behavior Therapist and maintain calendar of house material
    • Liaison with typesetter/printer/mailer and other vendors related to printing and production
    • Responsible for copyediting and proofreading all materials printed through the publications and communications department
      • Includes convention materials (program, brochure, etc.), website, fact sheets, social media, and other.
    • Responsible for soliciting and advertising in all ABCT publications. Maintains ongoing relationship with longtime advertisers.
    • Works closely with Director of Education and Meeting Services on convention-related materials.
    • Handles ABCT graphic design needs: marketing materials promoting the annual convention (postcards, flyers) and for on-site activities (posters, signs, supplement), Exhibit Prospectus, CE Brochure, convention registration forms, ABCT app graphics, creation of convention logo
    • Awards & Recognition: Keep track of annually changing Call for Award Noms, produce certificates, keep track of winners and web postings
    • Creation and design of membership-retention promotions appearing in the newsletter, business cards, certificates

    Professional Skills:

    • Ability to be accurate and thorough
    • Ability to schedule and monitor projects from inception to completion
    • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
    • Ability to design a range of print media: from postcards to signs to multiple pages (tBT) incorporating advertising/art; and expertise in preparing electronic files for a variety of media
    • Managerial capability for training and supervising temporary help
    • Ability to manage editorial deadlines
