CSI is hiring its new Innovation Lab Director to work with local government, industry, economic development and community leaders to identify and develop plans for innovative integrated infrastructure projects that combine profitability and sustainability.

As a leader you will help organizations unleash the power of integrated infrastructure and industrial symbiosis, a process which weaves industries together to capture economic value by transforming surplus and waste from one organization into marketable resources for use by another.

CSI anticipates expanding its Innovation Lab services and growing a team around the new Director, so the ideal candidate will possess strong leadership and team management skills.

    • Convene stakeholders to identify key opportunities and map resource flows for integrated infrastructure and symbiosis solutions
    • Guide stakeholders through the project vision and planning process
    • Assist stakeholders in refining plans, assessing business cases, and prioritizing investments
    • Connect local client-partners with appropriate public and private funders and investors
    • Support client-partners through early stages of project implementation

    Qualifications

    • Five or more years’ project management experience in related fields such as, but not limited to, wastewater, wood products, food and beverage production, infrastructure or utility systems, or industrial park development
    • Three or more years’ experience leading teams and managing direct reports
    • Proven ability to successfully manage complex project budgets, timelines, and partnerships
    • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage a diverse set of stakeholders and team members
    • Ability to conceptualize, plan, implement and oversee development of integrated infrastructure initiatives
    • Understanding of integrated infrastructure and familiarity with industrial symbiosis
    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant subject such as manufacturing, forestry, natural resources, economics, business administration, or project finance
    • Ability to travel regionally within the Pacific Northwest

    Desirable Qualities and Qualifications

    • Critical thinking and analytical skills necessary to mitigate risk factors and resolve complex or unforeseen conditions amid tight timelines and high client expectations.
    • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
    • Innovative mindset, fearless curiosity, and unshakeable commitment to finding we-all-win solutions
    • Financial and performance contracting expertise
    • Familiarity with public, private, and blended financing
    • Project Management Certification
