    THE ROLE

    Vote Solar is seeking a Manager, Digital Engagement to assist in implementing and executing the organization’s digital engagement strategies. Working under the leadership of the Director of Digital Engagement within the Communications team, this role will focus on managing day-to-day digital operations, drafting and refining digital content, and supporting member and donor engagement campaigns.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    The Manager, Digital Engagement primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

    MEMBER & DONOR ENGAGEMENT (45%)

    • Manage the day-to-day email program in EveryAction, including drafting, scheduling, and sending regular national and regional member and donor communications
    • Coordinate and maintain the editorial calendar for digital content, ensuring alignment with messaging and timing across regional and fundraising communications campaigns
    • Draft and support the creation of specialized email series, such as welcome series, re-engagement series, and automated donor workflows, in collaboration with Director of Digital Engagement, Managing Director of Individual Giving and consultants
    • Conduct A/B testing of subject lines, email content, and designs to improve engagement and optimize deliverability
    • Maintain the automation for onboarding new members and develop strategies to sustain member and donor engagement
    • Collaborate with the philanthropy team to implement donor outreach campaigns, including key initiatives like Giving Tuesday, end-of-year fundraising, and other high-priority campaigns.

    DIGITAL ENGAGEMENT CAMPAIGNS SUPPORT (30%)

    • Assist in executing national awareness campaigns, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and messaging
    • Analyze performance data from campaigns, identifying opportunities for optimization and growth
    • Collaborate with the Director of Digital Engagement to refine and enhance digital engagement strategies, contributing ideas during brainstorming and planning sessions

    MEMBER & DONOR ACQUISITION (20%)

    • Manage digital acquisition efforts to grow our list of members and donors, working closely with the Director of Digital Engagement and Philanthropy team to align on tactics and strategy
    • Draft content for different platforms and audiences, and analyze performance data to optimize for conversions
    • Collaborate with consultants managing Google Ads Grants and other digital ad initiatives
    • Support testing and evaluation of new digital tools, platforms, and creative strategies to expand reach
    • Assist in digital fundraising acquisition efforts, aligning paid strategies with engagement opportunities for the existing membership base

    REQUIREMENTS

    WHAT YOU’VE ACCOMPLISHED

    • 4 -7 years of digital communications, advocacy, or fundraising experience, or a demonstrated track record that matches this experience
    • Strong project management and analytical abilities
    • Excellent creative and written communication abilities
    • Understanding of digital communications best practice, email writing, digital advertising, and social media best practices, and ability to communicate them to a variety of stakeholders
    • Experience with email advocacy and online fundraising tools; EveryAction highly preferred
    • Experience in paid digital ad optimization; Google Ads and Meta Ad Manager highly preferred

    OTHER THINGS YOU MIGHT HAVE ACCOMPLISHED OR WOULD BE EXCITED TO LEARN HERE

    • Experience developing campaigns and messaging to promote environmental or energy issues
    • Knowledge of the intersection between clean energy and social justice
    • Experience with EveryAction and Salesforce

    LOCATION

    This is a remote position within the United States, with a preference for candidates based near a transportation hub. This position will require some national travel (one to three trips per year, typically for team or organization retreats.) Workplace arrangements are flexible, including options to work from a co-working space or work from home.

    SALARY AND BENEFITS

    The salary range for this position is $88,100-$95,600. At Vote Solar, we work hard to ensure that our compensation is equitable internally and aligned with our compensation philosophy and defined job levels. In order to ensure equitable compensation across roles in the organization, we do not negotiate new hire offers.

    Vote Solar provides full-time staff with a competitive package, including 4 weeks of paid vacation, 12 days of sick leave, 4 days of personal leave and 16 paid holidays. We also offer 100% employer-provided health, dental and vision care for team members; a retirement savings plan with an employer contribution of 3.5%; and a paid parental and medical leave policy for all regular employees.
