    Supervisor: Vice President of Individual Giving

    Salary: $80,000-$85,000

    The Role: The Assistant Director of Donor Campaigns and Engagement, a new position within the Individual Giving team, will have an immediate impact on Project Bread’s evolving fundraising strategy at a pivotal moment for the organization following a period of rapid growth. The Assistant Director will be a team leader, driving Project Bread’s efforts to grow and sustain individual donor support through strategic engagement and innovative, integrated, data-driven campaigns. This role focuses on cultivating and deepening donor relationships by developing creative strategies to inspire engagement and achieve bold revenue goals, including generating over $2 million in individual contributions. A successful candidate will have experience blending creativity, strategic thinking, leadership, and data-informed decision-making to drive initiatives that foster meaningful donor relationships across diverse audiences advancing Project Bread’s mission.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Work closely with the VP of Individual Giving to lead the planning, execution, and analysis of integrated multi-channel fundraising campaigns to meet annual revenue goals
    • Create and implement stewardship plans to recognize, retain, and upgrade individual donors, emphasizing donor impact and engagement
    • Develop compelling campaign themes, messaging, and materials to inspire donor participation and strengthen donor loyalty, working in partnership with the communications and content team
    • Oversee the revenue budget for all fundraising campaigns, including forecasting, monitoring, and ensuring alignment with organizational revenue goals
    • Design and implement new strategies to engage donors across various giving levels, ensuring a personalized and meaningful donor experience
    • Analyze donor data and campaign performance to identify trends, inform strategies, set and track key performance metrics, and ensure data-driven decision-making across all channels
    • Provide leadership and guidance to a team of two, including a manager and an associate, fostering a culture of professional development and growth while upholding industry best practices

    Organizational Responsibilities:

    • Participate in the planning and evaluation of the annual Walk for Hunger, including working as event staff the weekend of the Walk (the first weekend in May), and attending pre-Walk events as assigned.
    • Participate in organization-wide events and meetings.
    • Act to promote, sustain, and grow Project Bread’s positive, productive, and inclusive working environment.

    • 5+ years of experience in fundraising, donor engagement, or related fields, with proven success in managing individual giving campaigns such as direct mail, digital appeals, or peer-to-peer fundraising
    • Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and stakeholders effectively
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a talent for crafting donor-centric messaging and compelling campaign materials
    • Proficiency in fundraising databases (e.g., Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce) and digital platforms (e.g., Classy, Mailchimp, project management tools)
    • Analytical mindset with experience interpreting donor data and applying insights to improve campaign performance and donor strategies
    • Experience leading a team and fostering a collaborative work environment

    Additional Requirements

    Working Location: All employees currently work in a hybrid remote and in-office model and are expected to spend some time in the office each week. The Assistant Director will need to be present in the East Boston office on Tuesdays and Thursdays and may require additional in-person work as needed.
