    GENERAL DUTIES

    With the support of the Program Manager of Career Connected Learning and FutureReadyNYC Director (CUNY Central Office), FutureReadyNYC intermediaries (IMs) will report to College Now (CN) campus staff. They will perform miscellaneous administrative, clerical, recruiting, liaising and/or other work related to the operation of a College Now program or other unit where such work is required on a part-time basis or for a period of limited duration.

    All personnel perform related work. This specification describes typical assignments; related duties may be assigned as needed.

    • Minimum tenure for any employee in this hourly position is a minimum of 15 hours per week
    • Performs routine administrative work; may answer and attend to telephone calls and emails; maintain records, operate office machines (such as copier), input student data into CUNYfirst, act as an intermediary who liaises between CUNY and New York City Public Schools (NYCPS) stakeholders, and perform all related tasks as required
    • Attend meetings regularly with K16 staff and other intermediaries in an effort to discuss challenges, best practices, and network with others
    • Assists in recruitment efforts, including visiting CUNY and NYCPS campuses to speak with students and stakeholders about programming, college admissions, and matriculation
    • Monitor CN student progress via report analysis, early intervention strategies (monthly data analysis), and regular classroom check-ins
    • May operate laptops or computers, computer software, and other electronic equipment in performing assigned tasks

    CAMPUS SPECIFIC INFORMATION

    FutureReadyNYC is a collaborative program that works with participating schools and will become early champions of the effort to equitably grow career-connected learning. Schools and educators will receive support and funding to develop labor market-aligned pathways to ensure students are future-ready; these pathways will include five key elements.

    1. Career-connected instruction
    2. Financial/ digital literacy
    3. Early college credits
    4. Work-based learning opportunities
    5. Individualized college and career advising so students graduate with a plan and a pathway

    Other key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Assists CN and NYCPS staff with all programming logistics related to FutureReadyNYC, NYCPS, the CUNY College Now program, Explorers, and other K16 programs
    • Assists CN and NYCPS staff with student onboarding, orientations and class visits, inputting student data into CUNYfirst, and attending recruitment events
    • Attends triweekly (rotating Wednesdays and Thursdays) check-in meetings, in-person kickoff and end of year events, with FutureReadyNYC team at CUNY Central Office
    • Maintains progress tracker and/or unit calendar as advised by Program Manager of Career Connected Learning and FutureReadyNYC Director
    • Completes employee time sheets bi-monthly, performs related data entry
    • Assists with other initiatives, projects, and/or event planning

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Must demonstrate sufficient skills to perform the duties of the assigned tasks.
    • At least 2 years of college completed.
    • Flexible scheduling as this is a hybrid position (virtual check-ins and other linear correspondence & in-person work at CN campuses and NYCPS campuses. There will be occasional in-person meetings and/or events at CUNY Central Office-42nd street location or any other available CUNY location).
    • Depending on CN campus placement, intermediaries may be required to work Saturdays as needed. If this poses a scheduling conflict, please indicate in your cover letter and/or job application.

    OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

    The ideal candidate will possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities:

    • Functional experience using standard Microsoft Office applications, and CUNYFirst database system (if not, CUNYfirst training and onboarding will be facilitated by CN staff at their respective campuses)
    • Proficiency using administrative, financial, or academic programs, systems, and databases, with interest in learning new software and procedures
    • Detail-oriented with strong analytical, evaluative, and research skills
    • Strong organizational skills to prioritize work, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a time-sensitive office
    • Strong work ethic and character with a high degree of personal integrity to work with the utmost discretion, maintain confidentiality and safeguard student information, and handle documents with sensitivity and discretion
    • Professional poise, courteous demeanor, flexibility, and composure under pressure
    • Should have the ability to interact and work cooperatively and collaboratively on a team to help diverse internal and external constituencies

    Hourly Rate

    $22.00 per hour at a minimum of 15 hours per week
