    Description

    DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR

    The National Assembly of State Arts Agencies (NASAA) is seeking a dynamic, strategic and relationship-driven development director to lead our fundraising efforts.

    This key role fosters a culture of engagement, inclusion and generosity while driving support for NASAA's mission to strengthen state arts agencies nationwide. The director overseas the strategy, management and execution of NASAA's development programs for foundation and corporate support, annual giving and major gifts from individuals. This individual also leads government grant applications and reporting, and selected functions related to NASAA's annual conference and convenings. As a part of the management team, the position works with NASAA's board of directors and Development Committee to sustain and grow support for NASAA's mission.

    The development director position is a full-time, salaried (exempt) position with benefits. The starting annual salary range is $90,000 – $95,000, depending upon qualifications and experience. Review the full Development Director Position Description.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
    • A minimum of seven years of fundraising experience, including leading and mentoring a professional team
    • Experience working in a professional association, a national nonprofit or a policy administration and advocacy organization strongly preferred
    • Experience with budgeting and event planning strongly preferred
    • Experience developing and executing strategic goals preferred

    Skills and Abilities

    • Exemplary collaboration and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with and engage a wide array of audiences and foster long-term relationships
    • Experience in grant writing and managing a comprehensive grant portfolio
    • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to prioritize work and tasks
    • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team, managing multiple projects simultaneously
    • Proven computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite and Salesforce or other database programs
