    Description

Our rapidly-growing community nonprofit is seeking individuals with empathy, diligence and a passion for helping others to join our case management team supporting people in need that we train, employ and support for greater future employment and financial independence. This work supports job seekers in general and complements innovative green workforce development and community redevelopment services making meaningful and positive changes for people, the planet and prosperity every day across Baltimore city.

Established in 2019, Grow Home is a service-driven nonprofit dedicated to providing city residents with opportunities for work, specialized training, experience and exposure to skills that lead to in-demand jobs in construction, urban agriculture, and other trades they select and pursue. We provide these work opportunities through a variety of career training and community-directed stewardship work at many places including parks, gardens, vacant lots, pastures and trails throughout Baltimore.

Our programming serves multiple vital community needs for entry-level careers and helping communities combat blight/neglect of underutilized areas in the city including the Green Jobs Program that trains 65 or more jobseekers annually to perform community-directed improvements.

Our mission prioritizes local workforce hiring and development and vocational training opportunities for people living in communities in need, with a specific intent to empower people while improving places. We focus our operations on getting each of the crew members the appropriate support, growth and training opportunities for future success, especially those most eager to grab the experience, knowledge and confidence to find sustainable employment.

Since 2020, we’ve helped hundreds of neighbors upgrade their lives, get work and go on to start their next careers and jobs to fuel success, and given even more people at least a few weeks of paid experience and support. We’ve gotten people driver’s licenses, interviews and apprenticeships and that’s what we want you to make happen with us, for them.

As a case manager you’d be meeting 1-on-1 with people on a regular basis to check in on their work, lives and progress at our office down in Brooklyn, or traveling to special training events and other appointments as needed. In turn, over time, you’ll help each person identify and take on those common obstacles that affect workforce readiness, employability and overall success. The people who we serve have been through a LOT, and we know that our supportive case managers are essential to holistically resolve off-the-job challenges and better prepare our crew members for future success and careers. We’re just asking you to be the mentor, confidante or positive influence that each person needs to achieve success.
