    SUMMARY

    JCC Maccabi is a signature program of the JCC Movement.Established in 1982, the JCC Maccabi Games have brought over 140,000 teens and more than 500,000 host families, volunteers, and spectators together for one-week annual Olympic style events in host communities throughout North America. The program connects teens, JCCs, and communities from across North America and around the world to explore their Jewish identities, develop lasting memories, friendships, connections, and make a difference in the Jewish world of today and of the future.

    Today, JCC Maccabi is one of the largest Jewish identity and community building programs in the Jewish world and a most significant Jewish Peoplehood building project of our time. The program is currently implementing a dynamic strategic vision to significantly expand its reach and deepen its impact over the next five years through a diversified and expanded program portfolio, greater fundraising achievement and allied partners who can create opportunities for engagement at and beyond the summer Games in North America.

    JCC Association seeks an enthusiastic and dynamic professional to serve as Program Associate on the JCC Maccabi team. Under the supervision of the JCC Maccabi Deputy Director, this full-time position provides high level administrative, operational, and organizational support to the JCC Maccabi program.

    Successful candidates are dedicated and competent professionals; possess strong verbal and written skills; are highly organized, detail-oriented, hard-working, and capable of tackling multiple projects at a time. Candidates should be comfortable in customer/stakeholder facing roles in addition to enjoying ‘back-end’ support through marketing tools, digital and data management work. They must work well independently and thrive as a committed member of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while maintaining a high level of professionalism and integrity.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Administrative and Operational Support

    • Provide administrative, clerical, and program support for JCC Maccabi
    • Prepare, draft, edit and distribute correspondence, presentations, and spreadsheets
    • Schedule and organize events such as meetings, domestic and international travel, hotels, conferences, and other departmental activities
    • Process expense reports and departmental invoices in an accurate and timely manner, and in accordance with accounting procedures
    • Provide support related to data entry and management including event registration software, invoicing, alumni database and program records
    • Act as administrative liaison with JCCs, other JCC Association departments, and outside agencies
    • Work independently and within a team to develop and coordinate both non-recurring and ongoing project
    • Create and administer Pre and post Games surveys
    • Follow up with delegations for outstanding information and payments

    Marketing and Communications

    • Liaise with JCC Association Marketing Department to ensure creation and fulfillment of all marketing deliverables in support of the JCC Maccabi program including digital marketing materials, digital platform design and updates (website, social medial platforms, event app) program signage/banners, promotional items and swag, awards, medals and other program supplies
    • Identify, generate content for, and manage strategy for digital marketing for website and social media platforms
    • Identify and coordinate opportunities for engagement with teens to build JCC Maccabi brand through digital platforms

    Program Support and Delivery:

    • Play a lead role in developing and implementing new programs including but not limited to an annual JCC Maccabi sport tours in Israel in partnership with RootOne; and, with the JCC Maccabi shaliach, strengthen and enhance Israel-focused programming at and beyond the summer Games
    • Support recruitment efforts for new programs as they arise including but not limited to JCC Maccabi Sport Tour, J-Team (continental delegation) opportunities, and other new beyond summer engagement initiatives
    • Serve as the administrative and programmatic liaison to RootOne as it relates to JCC Maccabi Israel teen travel programs and work with delegations on RootOne grant opportunities, programming, and related administrative needs
    • Support and steward relationships with program partners and collaborations including but not limited to Israel Baseball, BBYO, Hillel, Lost Tribe, and others

    At the Games:

    • Provide on the ground support during the week(s) of JCC Maccabi to host community, delegation and JCC Maccabi staff team in areas included but not limited to Maccabi central, registration, score reporting, host family/volunteer/spectator customer service and support, data management, and communications (social media, web and app etc.), program delivery, teen supervision

    PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • College graduate
    • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience preferred
    • Familiarity with nonprofits, the North American Jewish community, JCC Maccabi and/or JCC is a plus

    PREFERRED SKILLS

    • Strong interpersonal skills and a positive, “can-do” attitude
    • Fluent in English with excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize and meet deadlines
    • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively as part of a team
    • Familiarity with Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
    • Experience with Canva, CRMs/databases, survey software, social media platforms and basic website design tools

    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

    • This position is based in New York City with the expectation of a combination of office and remote work
    • Limited travel required from September - June
    • Extensive travel required during the summer (July-August)
    • Unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. without holding a visa or sponsorship is required
