    Description

    The Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes (CSKT), in partnership with Partners for Justice, is seeking dedicated Client Advocates with strong tribal affiliations to apply for our paid 2-year Professional Client Advocate Fellowship. Fellows will work with public defenders, directly at the tribal defenders office in Pablo, Montana.

    We are currently recruiting for one position that would start in January 2025 and another that would start in July 2025. The Application is currently open and will remain open until we have selected the best candidates.

    Fellows will work directly in public defender’s offices with experienced public defenders and social workers to connect clients directly with non-legal services and build a network of local services, community organizations, and civil attorneys.

    This unique fellowship will provide fellows with intensive training, mentorship, and hands-on experience in advocating for the rights of tribal members involved in the justice system.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Provide direct legal and social services to tribal clients
    • Conduct client intake and assessments
    • Develop and implement case plans
    • Advocate for policy changes to improve the lives of tribal members
    • Collaborate with community partners to build a strong support network

    Qualifications:

    • Tribal membership or strong connections to a tribal community
    • Full-time, in-person availability as of January 2025 or July 2025
    • Passion for social justice and a commitment to serving marginalized communities
