    Position Overview

    CLW is seeking a Program Associate to support research, project management, administrative operations, international collaboration, cybersecurity, and fundraising. The Program Associate will report directly to the Executive Director and work closely with a small but dynamic team.

    This role is ideal for candidates with a strong interest in labor rights, corporate social responsibility (CSR), forced labor, human rights, and cybersecurity who are eager to take on diverse responsibilities in a nonprofit setting.

    Key Responsibilities

    Research & Program Management

    • Conduct research on forced labor, supply chain accountability, and corporate social responsibility (CSR).
    • Assist in writing, editing, and publishing reports, policy briefs, and corporate accountability investigations.
    • Maintain research databases, track project progress, and manage stakeholder engagement.
    • Support labor rights advocacy campaigns, policy initiatives, and corporate accountability efforts.
    • Help coordinate collaborations with partners in the U.S., Europe, and Asia.

    Administrative & Operations Support

    • Manage scheduling, travel arrangements, and meeting coordination for the Executive Director.
    • Provide daily office support, including expense tracking, invoice processing, and vendor management.
    • Assist in staff onboarding, internal training, and office workflow optimization.
    • Maintain meeting records, document archives, and internal databases.

    Translation & Communications

    • Translate and proofread reports, policy documents, and communications (Chinese ↔ English).
    • Draft and edit bilingual newsletters, press releases, and advocacy materials.
    • Support social media content creation and website updates.
    • Assist with media engagement and public relations efforts.

    Cybersecurity & Data Management

    • Ensure secure storage and encryption of CLW’s research data and sensitive information.
    • Maintain and implement cybersecurity best practices to protect internal communications and information.
    • Utilize VPNs, encryption tools, and multi-factor authentication (MFA) to safeguard digital security.
    • Provide basic cybersecurity training to staff to enhance organizational security awareness.
    • Manage internal data storage, backups, and access permissions to maintain compliance and security.

    Fundraising & Donor Relations

    • Identify and research potential funders and grant opportunities.
    • Assist in drafting grant proposals, donor reports, and fundraising materials.
    • Manage donor communication records and track funding applications.
    • Support fundraising campaigns and donor engagement efforts.

    Qualifications

    Required Qualifications:

    • Fluent in Mandarin Chinese and English (written & spoken).
    • Must be able to work on-site in Millburn, New Jersey (remote work is not available).
    • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Political Science, International Relations, Human Rights, Public Policy, Economics, Law, or a related field.
    • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to handle diverse responsibilities in a small team.
    • Excellent writing and communication skills in both English and Chinese.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Suite.
    • Basic knowledge of cybersecurity best practices, including VPNs, data encryption, and multi-factor authentication (MFA), with the ability to implement basic security measures.

    Preferred Qualifications (If you meet at least 70%, we encourage you to apply!):

    • 1+ year of experience in an NGO, think tank, journalism, or related field.
    • Experience in data management, financial tracking, event coordination, or nonprofit administration.
    • Familiarity with QuickBooks, Salesforce, Asana, Mailchimp, or social media management tools.
    • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced nonprofit environment.
    • Willingness to travel occasionally for conferences and advocacy efforts.

    Compensation & Benefits

    Salary: $52,000 - $70,000 per year (commensurate with experience)
