    Position Overview

    The Public Affairs and Relations Manager serves as Eno’s external voice, driving communications strategies to promote its mission, elevate its policy expertise, and position Eno as a thought leader in transportation policy. This role balances strategic communications, public relations, and stakeholder engagement to amplify Eno’s visibility and impact.

    Reporting to the Vice President, Development and Programs, the Public Affairs and Relations Manager works collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders, including policymakers, media, and industry leaders.

    Key Responsibilities

    Public Affairs/Relations (50%)

    • Develop and implement comprehensive public affairs strategies to increase Eno’s visibility among policymakers, industry leaders, and the public.
    • Serve as the organization’s primary media liaison, managing media relationships, coordinating interviews, and responding to inquiries and manage the Eno Public Affairs mailbox.
    • Draft press releases, op-eds, and media pitches, positioning Eno as a trusted voice on transportation policy.
    • Build and maintain relationships with media outlets, influencers, and key stakeholders to secure coverage and amplify Eno’s initiatives.
    • Track and analyze media coverage to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for growth.
    • Represent Eno at public events, conferences, and other speaking engagements to strengthen organizational presence and network.

    Marketing and Communications (50%)

    • Develop and execute strategic communication plans to promote Eno’s programs, events, and policy work through digital and traditional channels.
    • Prepare and send Eno’s key digital publications: ETW, ETW Express, and Eno Connector in collaboration with the ETW Editor and Vice President, Development and Programs.
    • Oversee Eno’s website and social media platforms, ensuring content is engaging, timely, and aligned with organizational branding.
    • Lead the creation of high-quality publications, reports, policy briefs, and promotional materials, ensuring consistent messaging and quality.
    • Manage Eno’s digital marketing efforts, including email campaigns, social media outreach, SEO, and newsletters.
    • Collaborate with the team to engage Eno’s alumni network and strengthen community connections.
    • Track and evaluate communications KPIs, adjusting strategies to maximize reach and engagement.

    Qualifications

    Education and Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications, political science, or a related field preferred.
    • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in public affairs, communications, or nonprofit marketing, with demonstrated leadership capabilities.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Strong knowledge of public affairs strategies and media relations.
    • Expertise in digital communication tools, including WordPress and MailChimp systems.
    • Advanced writing, editing, and storytelling capabilities.
    • Exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills to collaborate with staff and build external relationships.
    • Proficiency in online graphic design platforms such as Canva or Visme.
    • Experience with CRM or AMS Systems (Rhythm specifically) a plus

    Physical and Travel Requirements

    • Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods during events.
    • Capability to lift or carry materials up to 40 pounds.
    • Flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends, and travel up to 15% of the time.
