    Description

    The Grant Writer serves as a key member of CRPE’s Development team, supporting CRPE’s ​ overall grants management program with a focus on drafting, finalizing, and submitting grant proposals and reports. The Grant Writer reports to CRPE’s Development Director. The Grant Writer must be creative, self-motivated and enjoy working within a diverse organization that is mission-driven, results-driven, and community oriented. The ideal individual will have the ability to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations, with strong written and verbal communications, administrative, and organizational skills, and the ability to maintain a realistic balance among multiple priorities. The Grant Writer must be able to handle a wide variety of activities and confidential matters with discretion.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Grants Calendar: Support the Development Director in managing CRPE’s grants​​ calendar. Ensure compliance with funders’ deadlines and technical requirements.
    • Drafting Applications, Proposals and Reports: Draft CRPE’s written grant applications, proposals and reports, using independent judgment. Work with the Development Director on the framing of proposals, drawing on subject matter expertise to develop successful approaches and strategies.
    • Finalizing Applications, Proposals and Reports: Finalize grant applications, proposals and grant reporting. Incorporating edits and ensuring that CRPE’s final submissions are accurate, strategic, and polished; submit proposals and final reports to funders as needed with the approval of the Development Director.
    • Information Gathering: Identify and interview relevant staff to gather information on grant deliverables; identify and gather supplementary materials, such as media items and publications, for reports and proposals.
    • Data Management: Input and manage data in Network for Good, including donor and funder contact information and information about grants; review and analyze data in individual records to ensure accuracy and completeness; while also maintaining CRPE’s information on grant databases like Guidestar.
    • Collaborate With Communications: Collaborate with the Communications Coordinator on projects that involve Development. Some of these projects include but are not limited to: Giving Tuesday, CRPE’s End of The Year Letter, CRPE’s Quarterly Newsletter, and End of The Year Thank You’s.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Demonstrated commitment to public interest, equity, or justice (including environmental, racial, or social justice).
    • Demonstrated competency in working with people with different social identities than themselves (including race, gender, sexual orientation, age, class, and disability).
    • Demonstrated ability to work as a team player.
    • Demonstrated creativity and organization in taking on and completing complex projects.
    • Skilled at building relationships with colleagues, community members, and allies.
    • Prior grant writing experience, strong writing and ability to incorporate feedback.
    • Detail-oriented, ability to prioritize and follow through with multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
    • Ability to travel occasionally as required.
    • Written and oral proficiency in Spanish is not mandatory, however it is a plus
