    Description

    About Technovation

Technovation is the world’s largest technology entrepreneurship program for girls.

Our mission is to empower girls, especially those from underrepresented communities, to develop problem-solving skills, self-efficacy, and financial capacity, critical to them becoming leaders and changemakers in their communities. In the Technovation Girls program, teams of girls are supported by mentors to develop app based solutions to problems in their communities. Over the past 17 years, we have engaged 350,000 participants across 120+ countries. We are able to accomplish this impact thanks to our global community of Chapter Ambassadors, leaders at partner organizations who bring this experience to their local communities.

We recently created a very ambitious strategic plan to leverage our global network of partners to make a significant impact in increasing the number of women in positions of influence, power, and leadership – especially in STEM. Our goal is to empower and engage 25 million girls around the world over the coming years.

The Chapter Ambassador Global Community Team

Technovation’s Program Team is responsible for successfully organizing, mobilizing, and supporting organizational leaders (Chapter Ambassadors) around the world to run Technovation Girls in their communities. Our Chapter Ambassadors have a variety of academic and professional backgrounds and are often leaders at nonprofit organizations, schools, or universities. They recruit participants and organize the Technovation program within a country or a region.

Housed within the larger Program Team, the three-member Chapter Team is responsible for listening to and advocating for our Chapter Ambassadors, spearheading initiatives that grow and connect our global ambassadors to increase their impact, and supporting them to successfully implement the Technovation Girls program in their communities.

    About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Sr Program Director, the Program Manager leads support for Chapter Ambassadors across Latin America and Europe.

    • The manager will spend 55% of their time supporting new and returning Chapter Ambassadors in Latin America and Europe (virtually). Specifically, this involves:
      • Managing new and existing larger regional partnerships
      • Developing and executing regional chapter strategy
      • Managing regional communications
    • They will spend 25% of their time leading and supporting community-strengthening and capacity-building initiatives that increase our global communities’ impact and enhance our internal understanding of these leaders’ experiences.
    • And 20% supporting the global program by collaborating on projects related to Technovation’s custom platform, judging and more.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Provide individualized support to Chapter Ambassadors. This involves 1:1 check in calls and responding to emails to ensure that program leaders have the information and guidance they need to successfully implement the program. Because each Chapter looks very different, this involves a high degree of individualized relationship building and management.
    • Design virtual learning experiences to equip leaders with the necessary knowledge and skills to lead the Technovation program. Leverage experienced Chapter Ambassadors to promote knowledge sharing and collaboration.
    • Streamline the accessibility of resources and support structures to promote turn-key implementation and Ambassador autonomy. Work with the Chapter team to improve the quality and relevance of our resources and supports.
    • Spearhead community building initiatives that foster collaboration between Chapter Ambassadors. This includes programs such as leadership recognition and regional calls.
    • Use feedback to improve Ambassadors’ user experience of implementing our program in terms of its structure, logistics, and virtual platform.
      • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of Chapter supports and strategy. Use data to inform programmatic decisions and advocate for our Chapter Ambassadors. Also evaluate different models of program implementation among Chapters to inform strategy for support and partnership development.
      • Develop strategic regional partnerships with organizations and funders to support the growth of Chapters in Latin America and Europe (ex: UNICEF). Work with the Fundraising team to support fundraising efforts and grant reporting in Latin America and Europe.
    • Coordinate with the Volunteer Engagement team to integrate and support volunteer engagement efforts that involve Chapters.
    • This position will likely include up to 5% travel depending on funding, partnerships, and other factors.

    • Has 3+ years of project/program management experience that includes training and/or managing educators, staffs, or volunteers

    • Has a track record of building and maintaining relationships with community organizations, schools, districts, or ministries of education. Can inspire and motivate a team of global leaders
    • Is resourceful and takes initiative; able to think creatively to find solutions to challenges, and able to efficiently utilize resources to maximize impact.
