    Description

    Global Philadelphia seeks a contracted (20-30 hours per week) Development Manager responsible for all aspects of fundraising from funding sourcing to administration. This role will also be critical in organizing and managing Global Philadelphia’s day-to-day efforts to attract and retain corporate and individual donors as we grow our donors and membership program.

    We are a nonprofit organization positioning Philadelphia internationally. The work of the Development Manager directly ensures Global Philadelphia has resources needed to achieve our mission of amplifying Philadelphia as a global city and sharing our World Heritage City status with the community. We offer community programming and two major civic events annually.

    Responsibilities will include:

    • Manage the overall process associated with seeking new investors and stakeholders.
    • Research stakeholders to identify key contacts and priorities.
    • Conduct initial and continued outreach to investors and partners.
    • Schedule and execute meetings with partners and key contacts.
    • Write and submit letters of interest and proposals.
    • Some grants management, including simple applications and grant management.
    • Participate in regular meetings and updates with the President and Chair of the Board.
    • Envision and produce year-end appeal letters and other campaigns targeting donors.

    The Development Manager is able to manage multiple deadlines and ensures Global Philadelphia delivers on promises to the many partners and collaborators that support our nonprofit organization. This position reports to Global Philadelphia’s President. While no single candidate may embody all the qualifications below, an ideal candidate would possess many of the below experiences and skill sets:

    • Experience in fundraising, partner and sponsorship management.
    • Excellent proposal writing skills.
    • Experience completing online grant applications.
    • Demonstrated project management and organizational skills, with a strong attention to detail.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced hybrid work environment, multi-task and follow-through.
    • Strong ability to follow systems and procedures.
    • Strong communication skills with partners, funders, stakeholders, board members and members of the greater community; must be extremely professional and able to resolve all minor conflicts.
    • Developing the language and for stakeholder proposal materials
    • A commitment to the mission and vision of Global Philadelphia.
    • Previous experience working in a nonprofit organization in the greater Philadelphia area is preferred.

    Preference will be given to candidates with knowledge or passion for subject areas relevant to Global Philadelphia including but not limited to cultural heritage, economic development, education, global affairs, sustainability and more.
