    Job Summary:

    TGIJP Black Trans Cultural Center seeks Human Resources Assistant

    Our HR Assistant reports to the HR Director and assists with hiring and employee relations of all the departments of our company. The HR Assistant will help with employee file management according to the organization's standards, guidelines, and protocol. The HR Assistant will assist with recruitment planning, recruitment management, and enforcement and training of employee relations policies and procedures

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Assumes the professionalism required of a Human Resources professional Maintain the confidentiality of all staff members (specifically between staff members and balanced with required reporting to HR Director and Executive Team).

    • Maintain professional boundaries with staff members as this role requires both great trust and integrity.
    • Ensure professional interactions and engagements with staff while never deviating from the role of HR

    Assists with the organization’s hiring of new staff

    • Helps HR Director to organize the Hiring Committee to recruit, interview, and hire new staff members for each department.
    • Assist human resources operations by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, new hires.
    • Ensure job postings are posted on a monthly basis and removed when positions are filled.

    Takes lead on drafting job descriptions (to be filed in each staff member’s unique personnel folder within Gusto)

    • Job Descriptions are approved / edited by the position’s Director and the Executive Team

    Assists with onboarding new staff

    Assists with drafting hiring contracts.

    • Supports HR Director with negotiating contract details /employment agreements
    • Ensures this is filed in each staff member’s unique personnel folder within Gusto
    • Assists with drafting updating and implementing TGIJP’s policies & procedures, handbooks and manuals:
    • TGIJP’s Employee Handbook
    • TGIJP’s Internal Policies and Procedure
    • TGIJP’s Hiring Policies and Procedures
    • TGIJP’s HR Manual
    • Ensure Department Directors create manuals for their department by checking in regularly.

    Required Skills/Abilities:

    • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite , G Suite or related software.
    • Ability to be a self starter and to take initiative.

    Preferred Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
    • At least 2 years of human resource experience is required.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
    • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
