Position Summary:
The Donor Engagement Associate will support expansion of individual donor fundraising efforts at Esperanza through quality donor communications, development of donor stewardship/recognition opportunities, prospect research and analysis, and event planning. The Donor Engagement Associate will work as part of a development team to advance engagement of donors across the donor life cycle.
Essential Functions:
- Work with SVP of Development and Development Associate to design and implement moves management tools customized to Esperanza needs in a new CRM system (to be determined)
- Capture information about long-standing donors’ history with the organization needed to complete our understanding of relationships.
- Work to compile donor impact report drafts on an annual/biannual basis and ensure the accuracy of donor recognition lists included in impact report, website and other areas.
- Work closely with the SVP of Development to design giving societies to support donor engagement and the implementation of materials necessary for planned giving program integration across the development program.
- Collaboratively develop a list of donor engagement and stewardship opportunities throughout the year for Esperanza’s primary donor segments.
- Work with SVP of Development on targeted projects including expanded Board giving participation, alumni engagement and implementation of planned giving program.
- Ensure success stories, thank you cards, and other donor stewardship materials are kept readily accessible and up to date with fresh content to maximize individual donor engagement; and compile individualized stewardship report drafts for donors as needed.
- Support with outreach calls and follow up to donors before and after events.
- Maintain gift- tracking and confidential records related to donor solicitation strategies, history, and outreach in Esperanza’s CRM system.
- Generate regular reports of donors to flag for additional follow-up and stewardship, together with SVP of Development.
- Develop draft materials to support the engagement of major and planned giving donors (i.e. welcome messages, e-mails, appeals and e-blast messages).
- Support with logistics for fundraising and donor stewardship events.
- Generate prospect research data using available tools for SVP of Development to use in defining solicitation approach.
- Provide scheduling and other administrative support to SVP of Development in prep for donor visits.
- Collaborate with program, finance, and marketing staff to ensure successful execution of responsibilities.
Requirements:
- Possesses strong writing and verbal communication skills. Bilingual Spanish preferred but not necessary.
- Must have at least one years of proven experience.
- Ability to operate a computer and use a variety of common software programs including Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, and customized databases.
- Solid relational skills as demonstrated by cooperative and professional interaction with co- workers, visitors, vendors, key stakeholders, and members of the community.
- Organizes and maintains detailed information and processes it efficiently and effectively.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a larger team with a high level of energy.
- Demonstrated ability to follow-up and follow-through with strong attention to detail.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $49,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
WORKING CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT:
- Willing to travel to fulfill project demands (mostly local and regional).
- Willing to work flexible hours to accommodate project events and activities.
- Willing to attend public events representing Esperanza and other assigned projects.
