    Description

    The NASH Implementation and Data Integration Lead position is part of a grant-funded project focused on applying machine learning methods to solve key problems for transfer students. The project team has built an AI-assisted, interactive platform that includes search functionality for manually mapped course articulation, plus an AI-assisted course recommender system that will suggest course articulations for missing data.

    The Implementation and Data Integration Lead will work under the supervision of the Institute for Systems Innovation and Improvement Program Manager to ensure successful onboarding and implementation of the course articulation technology at up to five public higher education systems. This is a term-limited position with an anticipated end date of Spring 2026.

    The individual in this role will oversee project timelines, budgets, and communication while ensuring alignment with project goals and objectives. They will also guide the preparation and management of institutional course data, evaluate site readiness, and provide training to both system administrators and end users on campus. The position requires a blend of leadership experience, technical expertise, project management skills, and the ability to translate technical concepts into practical knowledge for audiences of various skill levels.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets to support activities described in the grant application and required to complete the project.
    • Monitor and manage the onboarding and implementation progress of the course articulation technology at up to 5 participating systems, identify potential risks, and enact mitigation strategies as needed.
    • Facilitate regular communication and coordination among project stakeholders to ensure shared understanding and progress toward project and grant objectives.
    • Serve as a primary point of contact for partners to address critical needs, provide updates, and resolve issues efficiently.
    • Develop a process for determining institutional readiness and establish protocols and best practices for onboarding and implementation.
    • Oversee data collection, cleaning, and migration processes to ensure alignment with software system requirements.
    • Conduct thorough evaluations of institutional readiness for system deployment, using process and tools developed as part of this engagement, to help identify gaps and recommend solutions.
    • Develop and maintain documentation on institutional readiness assessments, system implementation processes, and data workflows.
    • Collaborate with institution leadership, system designated project lead, campus transfer leads, and additional project partners to develop and execute action plans that address site-specific needs.
    • Design and deliver training programs and documentation for system users, including administrators and campus staff (e.g., advisors, registrars, etc.).
    • Prepare and present progress reports, key findings, and recommendations to stakeholders during the duration of the project activities
    • Foster collaboration across institutional sites and project partners to standardize practices and share insights.

    Other duties as assigned commensurate with the incumbent’s qualifications and skills.

    Minimum Qualifications and Competencies:

    • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, data management, higher education administration, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
    • Proven experience with large-scale data management or system implementation initiatives.
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
    • Understanding of higher education processes, systems, and data workflows.
    • Excellent technology skills, particularly with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams), Google Workspace, and Zoom
    • Proficiency with one or more project management software and/or tools (e.g., Asana, Jira, Microsoft Planner, MS Project, Smartsheet, Trello, etc.)
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and a customer service-oriented approach to supporting internal and external stakeholders
    • Comfort in a dynamic and remote working environment and ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Outstanding organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
    • Discretion in handling sensitive information and maintaining confidentiality
    • Valid Driver’s License

    Preferred Skills:

    • Experience working in a public higher education context
    • PMP or other project management certification

NASH prefers candidates available for 0.75 to 1.0 FTE and offers flexibility in whether the incumbent joins as a salaried FTE or works with us as an independent contractor.

    Full-time salaried staff are eligible for NASH benefits. Our comprehensive benefits package includes medical, dental, vision, 7.25% retirement match once vested, and paid time off.

    Work Location

    This position is Primarily Remote. At present, NASH staff work remotely across the Unites States in a variety of time zones. The majority of virtual meetings are scheduled between 11am - 5pm ET to accommodate this geographic diversity.

    Travel and in-person meetings are required for this position. It is expected that this person will need to visit each participating system at least twice during an 18-month period. Approved travel conducted as part of this engagement will be fully covered according to NASH travel policies.
