We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Family Ministry Director to oversee our Kids Community (Infant-5th grade), Student Ministry, and family equipping and discipleship by creating a welcoming, engaging, and spiritually enriching environment for our parents and young members.

    Job Summary

    This is a Full time position. The Family Ministries Director will be responsible for designing and implementing comprehensive programs that cater to the spiritual, educational, and social needs of families, students, and children within our church community. This role involves aligning family ministry events, curriculum and rhythms with Vista vision and values to continue making Vista a fun, engaging, and vibrant place to be. The Family Ministries director will cast vision for Family Ministries at Vista and curate volunteer engagement, implement systems for staff development, and leverage discipleship resources, while fostering a safe, nurturing, and vibrant environment for families to grow in their faith. The family ministries director will engage directly in family pastoral care within the Vista community. We are looking for someone who is ready to jump in and lead!

    Key Responsibilities

    • Function as a key member of the executive leadership team in implementing Vista’s kingdom vision for discipleship and growth for members of our community.
    • Develop a dynamic family ministry that will disciple and equip parents, working in concert with them as they immerse their children in a life of faith.
    • Engage the wider community with family events, working to create opportunities for people as they find their way into a faith community.
    • Utilize Vista’s discipleship tools, such as the BLESS10 initiative, discipleship flywheel and discipleship grid within family, kids and student ministries in age appropriate ways.
    • With support from current staff and leadership, engage families, including children and students, in the Church’s missional efforts locally and internationally. Streamline and strengthen the relationship between Kids Community and Student Ministries.
    • Oversee the implementation of a dynamic and age-appropriate curriculum for the kids' ministry, ensuring alignment with the church's vision and theological beliefs.
    • Ensure a safe and welcoming environment for all students and children, implementing robust safeguarding policies and procedures.
    • Foster community and maintain lines of communication and planning within the kids community, student ministry, and family discipleship efforts.
    • Collaborate with parents, church staff, and the wider church community to foster volunteer engagement and support for the kids' ministry.
    • Develop and mentor volunteers and staff to maximize ministry opportunities within the Vista landscape.

    Qualifications:

    • A strong personal faith and commitment to the church's mission and values.
    • Bachelor's degree in Theology, Christian Education, or a related field is preferred.
    • Proven experience in children's ministry or a related field, demonstrating leadership and program development skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children, parents, and volunteers.
    • Strong organizational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and events simultaneously.
    • Extensive experience managing teams, including conducting performance reviews and overseeing execution strategies and systems
    • A team player with a heart for service and a passion for nurturing the spiritual growth of children.
