Are you passionate about helping others and ready to make a direct impact on your community? Citizens Inn is looking for a Food Pantry Supervisor to lead the operations of our Haven from Hunger food pantry in collaboration with our Food Pantry Director. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a hands-on environment and wants to be part of an organization making a difference every day.

    About Us:

At Citizens Inn, we break the cycles of homelessness and hunger in the North Shore. We provide individuals and families with the tools to achieve stability, resilience, and independence. We believe in creating a dignified, supportive environment for our clients, many of whom have experienced trauma. Our commitment to trauma-informed care ensures our staff are equipped to help our clients—and support one another—through challenges.

    Why This Role Stands Out:

As the Food Pantry Supervisor, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our pantry operates smoothly while serving as a vital resource to those in need. You’ll not only oversee logistics but also directly interact with the people we serve, making this position ideal for someone who wants to combine operational skills with a passion for service. Your work will be the backbone of a program that hundreds rely on for food security and dignity.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Operational Management: In collaboration with our Food Pantry Director, lead day-to-day operations of the food pantry, ensuring efficiency and organization.
    • Inventory & Logistics: Oversee inventory, stock rotation, deliveries, and ensure food quality and freshness.
    • Client Interaction: Provide excellent service to pantry guests, ensuring a positive, respectful experience.
    • Safety & Compliance: Ensure adherence to all food safety and sanitation guidelines and manage pest/waste control.
    • Team Leadership: Work with staff and volunteers to optimize pantry operations and client service.
    • Cross-functional Support: Assist with our Community Meal Program when needed.

Why You’ll Love Working with Us:

    • Impact: You’ll be at the heart of a mission-driven organization making a tangible difference every day.
    • Growth: This is a hands-on, operational role with opportunities to develop management skills and lead within a passionate team.
    • Community: Our team thrives on collaboration and shared purpose. You’ll work alongside compassionate, driven individuals who are dedicated to the same cause.

    What We’re Looking For:

    • A passion for helping others and a strong commitment to our mission.
    • Experience in operational roles, preferably in food distribution, warehousing, or logistics.
    • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage inventory and lead volunteers.
    • Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in a physically demanding environment.
    • ServSafe, CPR/First Aid, and Allergen Certification (preferred, or must be completed after hiring).
    • Multilingual candidates (Spanish, Portuguese, Haitian Creole, Albanian) are strongly encouraged to apply.
    • Experience driving trucks with a DOT permit is a plus!

    Join Us:

If you’re looking for a rewarding role where you can see the impact of your work, this is it. As part of the Citizens Inn team, you’ll not only lead operations but also be part of a larger mission to break the patterns of instability and provide a lifeline to those in need.

    How to Apply:

Interested candidates should submit their resume and cover letter highlighting their relevant experience and passion for the role to careers@citizensinn.org. Candidates must be able to pass a criminal record (CORI) check.
