Part-Time & Substitute Adult Education & ESL Teacher

Key Responsibilities:

• • Plan and deliver engaging, learner-centered lessons in ABE, GED, and/or ESL programs.
  • Assess students’ skills and progress, adapting instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional methods, including technology, to enhance learning.
  • Provide a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters student growth and confidence.
  • Maintain accurate attendance records and track student progress.
  • Collaborate with program staff to align instruction with educational and workforce development goals.
  • Substitute as needed for regular instructors in ABE, GED, or ESL classes.

Qualifications:

• • Bachelor’s degree in Education, TESOL, English, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Experience teaching adult learners, ESL, GED, or ABE preferred.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional strategies.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital learning tools.
  • Ability to work with diverse populations and adapt instruction to meet individual needs.
  • PA Adult Education Certification or willingness to obtain is a plus.
  • Bilingual skills (Spanish, Arabic, etc.) are a plus but not required.

Schedule & Compensation:

• • Flexible, part-time schedule with morning, afternoon, and/or evening classes available.
  • Competitive hourly pay based on experience and qualifications.
