    Description

    Position Overview:

    The Development Manager will play a key role in advancing Sharing Excess’s mission through grant writing, proposal writing, and securing funding for our programs. The role will also include expense tracking and reporting for grants, and providing strategic advice for organizational growth. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, self-motivated, and committed to securing sustainable funding opportunities that support our work in addressing food insecurity.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Grant Writing & Proposal Writing:
      • Research, write, and submit grant proposals to foundations, government agencies, and corporate partners.
      • Develop compelling proposals and reports that highlight Sharing Excess’s mission, impact, and financial needs.
      • Collaborate with team members to align funding opportunities with program goals.
      • Sourcing Grants
    • Reporting & Expense Tracking:
      • Maintain accurate and timely reporting for all active grants and funding sources.
      • Track project expenses and ensure that they are within budget constraints.
      • Assist in creating financial reports and ensuring compliance with grant requirements.
    • Fundraising Strategy & Development:
      • Assist in the development of long-term fundraising strategies to support Sharing Excess's programs and growth.
      • Help identify new funding sources and partnerships to enhance the organization’s financial sustainability.
    • Advising & Support:
      • Provide ongoing advice to senior leadership regarding financial strategies, grant opportunities, and sustainability.
      • Help prepare internal reports and presentations for board meetings and funder updates.
