    Description

    Position

    The Part-Time Foster Program Administrator (the “Administrator”) will play a direct role in achieving our mission by managing part of our Foster and Emergency Care Program, including but not limited to support for individuals seeking treatment for problematic substance use. The Administrator will manage existing partnerships and source new clients and volunteers. This position will focus on onboarding new clients, placing pets in volunteer foster homes, maintaining communication with both foster volunteers and pet guardians, the ongoing management of each foster, including reunification, and evaluation of the program.

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Manage existing and explore new partnerships with organizations that serve individuals facing problematic substance use; prepare presentation materials and assist in sharing referral process with prospective partner organizations.
    • Conduct phone intakes with prospective clients and/or their representatives.
    • Coordinate foster care for pets, including but not limited to, recruiting and vetting interested volunteers, arranging transport/pick up of the pet(s), organizing appropriate veterinary care, coordinating deliveries of food and supplies, and maintaining ongoing communication with volunteers and clients.
    • Administer evaluation tool to assess outcomes of the program.
    • Complete all relevant administrative tasks, including data entry.
    • Work collaboratively with PAWS NY program team members in all areas of operations.

    Qualifications

    • A commitment and desire to co-develop and co-implement DEI initiatives alongside the full PAWS NY staff and board.
    • Must have strong interpersonal skills, experience working with marginalized communities, be kind, professional, and have the ability to be nonjudgmental.
    • Previous work or volunteer experience in, or strong familiarity with, the addiction treatment and recovery community strongly preferred.
    • Previous work or volunteer experience in pet foster care management preferred.
    • Previous work or volunteer experience managing volunteers preferred.
    • Willingness and ability to learn data entry software; Salesforce experience is a plus.
    • Bilingual or multi-lingual skills preferred.

    Benefits

    This is a part-time position with the opportunity for a flexible and mostly remote schedule. There may be an occasional need to work from our Manhattan office space, but the work will mostly be performed remotely. In addition, part-time employees are eligible to enroll in the organization's 401k plan with corporate match.
