    Organization Description: The non-partisan, nonprofit Presidents’ Alliance on Higher Education and Immigration brings college and university presidents and chancellors together on the immigration issues that impact higher education, our students, campuses, communities and nation. We work to advance just, forward-looking immigration policies and practices at the federal, state, and campus levels that are consistent with our heritage as a nation of immigrants and the academic values of equity and openness. The Alliance comprises over 570 presidents and chancellors of public and private colleges and universities, enrolling over five million students in 43 states, D.C., and Puerto Rico.

    Position Overview: The Presidents’ Alliance on Higher Education and Immigration (Presidents’ Alliance) seeks a part-time data consultant to work with the Director of the Higher Ed Immigration Portal and other staff to provide the following services, shifting priorities as needed between the four.

    1. Data Management, Calendar and Uploads (20%). Continued development and management of the data calendar, production of data visualizations, uploading of data (including the private institutions' tool) support in data quality control, and related activities (i.e. ACS, NCES, CPS). Ongoing.
    2. Data-based Research Projects and Writing (50%). Support the Senior Advisor for the Higher Ed Immigration Portal and the Director of the Portal on research and data projects, lead draft reports and briefs for in-house data published by the Presidents’ Alliance, including in concert with partners, and other written pieces related to international student and refugee data, and uploads. Ongoing.
    3. Content Posts and Uploads (20%). Help draft posts and upload content, as needed. Keep in mind International Student week, Black History Month, Immigrant Heritage Month, etc. Periodic.
    4. Data Audit (10%). Review the data on the higher ed immigration portal each month to maintain most recent data updates. Ongoing.

    Qualifications & Requirements

    • Our ideal candidate is data-driven, organized, and proactive. Ability to work between 10 to 12 hours per week.
    • Strong analytical, writing, and verbal skills. Experience or willingness to help coordinate reports, review data, analyze data, and/or update website content.
    • Ability to work independently, take initiative, solve problems creatively, and collaborate effectively with Presidents’ Alliance team members.
    • Time management and project management skills with the ability to prioritize work, deliver high-quality, accurate work, and meet multiple deadlines.
    • Ability to conduct basic data analysis, visualization, database management. Experience with Excel, Powerpoint, Microsoft/Google office products, Asana, Doodle and Canva.
    • Professional and/or lived experiences within the immigrant communities. Empathy and excellence in working with impacted populations, diverse teams, and on complex collaborative projects.
    • Experience with Wordpress and Infogram is needed.

    Compensation: As compensation for your services, the Fund will pay you $30/hour for approximately 10 to 12 hours of work per week, for a total maximum compensation per month not to exceed $1,400.00. The position will run from January 2025 to May 2025.
