    The Data Quality & Integrations Analyst role, within the Fundraising Systems & Data Analysis team responsible for managing the cleansing, transformation, monitoring, and standardization of HRW’s robust and growing sources of fundraising data.

    The Analyst will work as part of the Fundraising Analytics team to enhance HRW’s data hygiene protocols; design systems for proactively identifying/ triaging data issues and inputting/processing data consistently; and manage the day to day prioritization and resolution of data inconsistencies. The right candidate will have a strong analytical orientation, technical acumen, and a demonstrated ability to operationalize data hygiene practices to sustainably support the overall health of HRW’s fundraising data and ensure it effectively supports the department’s business goals. This position reports to the Senior Manager, Analytics and Insight, on the FSDA team and may be based in any of the following HRW Offices: Chicago, New York, Washington DC, Sao Paulo, London, Brussels, Amsterdam, Berlin, Amman, Nairobi, Tunis, Toronto or Johannesburg.

    Responsibilities:

    Data Quality and Integrity:

    • Implement a proactive discovery and monitoring process/system, based on industry best practice, for data integrity, consistency, and hygiene problems; determining the practices to follow in locales as needed; working with the designated “Data” individuals within each city office.
    • Develop product based solutions with the CRM, Digital product managers to ensure data validation is front of mind and quality data is captured at source.
    • Maintain central ownership and strategy for proactive and reactive data hygiene processes, including National Change of Address (NCOA) and other full-file hygiene
    • Provide tactical support of critical Leadership Gift data hygiene, working with Relationship Managers to identify and help address data integrity issues in order to support the processes that these gifts would be included within, inc data prep, reporting, financial reconciliation and analysis.
    • Develop protocols for triaging, prioritizing, delegating, and monitoring data hygiene issues
    • Design and execute data input and data transfer protocols that ensure minimization of data errors
    • Define shared cross-team responsibilities for data fixes and how they are escalated (e.g. responsibilities of staff users vs. Analytics staff), as well as dependencies on training, compliance, access to tools, data validation, etc.
    • Define and develop critical onboarding training and materials related to data management, acquisition, privacy, etc. in partnership with Training team
    • Develop, communicate, and monitor third party data usage policies (e.g., by volunteers, vendors, HRW staff other than the data owner)
    • Work with Fundraising Systems, IT teams, and stakeholders to codify incident response protocol, including data breaches, PCI incidents, and credit card exposure
    • Ensuring HRW data, including transfers comply with Data Protection standards across the globe.
    • Explore and make recommendations for other mechanisms to ensure data integrity (e.g. data sharing templates, document management systems)
    • Ensure that we work towards Master Data Management and creation of the supporter-360 views of HRW data.

    Integrations:

    • Develop and maintain a comprehensive data integration strategy for Fundraising Systems, ensuring the smooth flow of data between various systems and platforms.
    • Collaborate with CRM Product Manager, Digital Product Manager, and IT CRM team to identify data integration needs and requirements, and design and implement appropriate solutions to meet those needs.
    • Work closely with CRM Product Manager, Digital Product Manager, and IT CRM team to configure, test, and deploy data integration solutions (Including APIs), ensuring compatibility and compliance with organizational standards.
    • Perform data mapping and data transformation activities to ensure accurate and consistent data integration across different systems, databases, and applications.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve data integration issues, including data quality problems, system errors, and connectivity challenges, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
    • Monitor and analyze data integration processes, identifying opportunities for optimization and improvement, and implementing best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Document data integration processes, configurations, and guidelines, providing clear instructions and training to end-users to ensure proper data handling and usage.

    System Enhancements and User Adoption:

    • Collaborate with the team to identify areas for system enhancements, process improvements, and automation that can enhance the user experience and fundraising effectiveness.
    • Participate in, and support staff with, the planning and execution of User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for system upgrades, enhancements, and new features.
    • Assist in promoting user adoption of fundraising systems through communication efforts and training initiatives.

    Qualifications:

    Education: A bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience is required.

    Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a QA/QC engineer, data analysis, data management, or technical business analyst role (Salesforce experience strongly preferred). Knowledge and experience in nonprofit fundraising and marketing, preferably in a global INGO context with country-specific fundraising operations, is highly desirable.

    Related Skills and Knowledge:

    1. Hands-on experience with data analysis, quality, cleansing, extracting, and validation (ETL) processes and tools
    2. Fluency in SQL or similar database query language required. Experience with unstructured data is a plus.
    3. Knowledge of both using and configuring Application Programme Interfaces to perform data integrations between multiple systems
    4. Strong critical thinking skills; ability to conduct root cause analysis and translate into quality improvement measures
    5. Ability to translate user requirements into technical specifications and systems
    6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of presenting complex issues in a clear, concise and persuasive manner to business and technical professionals, and to staff for whom English is not their first language.
    7. Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
    8. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and assist with training initiatives.
    9. Basic understanding of nonprofit fundraising principles and practices is desirable.
    10. Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders and teams.
    11. Proficiency with Microsoft Office software.

Salary ranges outside of the US vary based on location.
