Job Description: Community Outreach and Engagement Coordinator 1.0 FTE 40 hours
Responsibilities Include:
- Maintain brave space for SCRC participants, upholding Code of Ethics and trauma-informed values
- Work collaboratively with peers to design marketing materials for print, radio, local presentations, and events
- Work with peers to create and adapt presentations to various community audiences: business, healthcare, civic, academic, criminal justice
- Recruit members of the community to the SCRC
- Serve as ambassador/liaison to community agencies, consortiums, and coalitions/task forces locally, state-wide (MOAR, SOAR) and nationally (Faces and Voices of Recovery)
- CAPRSS Accreditation process coordinator
- Work with peers to enhance membership opportunities, recovery support, building of recovery capital, and knowledge of the SCRC through information sessions (membership orientation, outreach committee, etc…) and outreach to community organizations, including schools, health care facilities, local businesses, area churches, civic organizations, etc.
- Coordinate peer recovery advocates to promote the SCRC and educate and inform the community about recovery obstacles and possibilities.
- Tobacco Education Coordinator for the Department of Public Health Bureau of Substance Addiction Services.
- Ensuring Rural Recovery’s mission is conveyed to the public.
- Create content and post to social media and engage with traditional media.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience in outreach and community building
- Close familiarity with local recovery community
- Extensive knowledge of Berkshire County community, including service providers, local businesses, and community supports, etc.
- Recovery Coach training and Recovery Coach Supervisor Training
- Able to work and manage a flexible schedule including some weekends, nights, and holidays
- Strong program planning and coordination skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge of group dynamics and solid group facilitation skills including virtual meeting facilitation
- Understanding of or experience with peer-participatory model
- Strong skills in computer programs such as Squarespace, Mailchimp, Canva, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Experience with strength-based approach to leadership development
- Excellent interpersonal skills and strong interpersonal boundaries
Experience:
- Must have lived/living experience with substance addiction recovery
Travel Requirements: Occasional travel throughout Massachusetts
