    Description

    Position Summary - GGRF Development Officer

    In collaboration with the Executive Director and Board, the Development Officer is responsible for creating and implementing fundraising strategies to increase the financial sustainability and growth of Girls Gotta Run Foundation. This role involves cultivating relationships with individual donors, corporate partners, foundations, and other stakeholders, prospecting new fundraising opportunities, grant writing, as well as coordinating fundraising events and campaigns. The ideal candidate will have a passion for Girls Gotta Run Foundation’s mission, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record in fundraising and development. This is a part-time position.

    Key Responsibilities

    Fundraising and Donor Cultivation

    • In collaboration with GGRF Executive Director, develop and execute a comprehensive annual fundraising plan to meet revenue goals.
    • Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward individual donors, major gift prospects, and corporate partners to grow GGRF’s current network.
    • Manage a portfolio of existing donors while identifying new donor prospects.
    • Create personalized engagement and solicitation strategies to grow donor contributions.

    Grant Writing and Management

    • Research potential grant opportunities that align with the organization’s mission and programs.
    • Prepare and submit compelling grant proposals and reports to foundations and funding agencies.
    • Maintain a grant calendar to track deadlines and deliverables.

    Event Planning and Management

    • Plan and execute fundraising events, including virtual and in-person events.
    • Coordinate event logistics, sponsorships, and post-event donor stewardship.

    Communications and Marketing

    • Collaborate with the Executive Director team to create compelling donor communications, newsletters, and impact reports.
    • Develop content for fundraising appeals and campaigns across multiple platforms.

    Data Management and Reporting

    • Maintain accurate donor records using the organization's donor management system (LGL).
    • Track and analyze fundraising performance metrics and prepare reports for leadership and the board.

    Board and Volunteer Engagement

    • Partner with the Board of Directors and Advisory Council to leverage their networks and support fundraising efforts.
    • Train and coordinate fundraising volunteers as needed.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree or 3+ years of experience in fundraising, development, or a related role.
    • Proven success in securing major gifts, corporate sponsorships, and/or grant funding.
    • Strong writing skills with experience in grant writing and donor communications.
    • Excellent relationship management and interpersonal skills.
    • Proficiency with donor management software and fundraising tools.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines with attention to detail.
    • Passion for empowering girls in Ethiopia through running and education
