    Join Our Team as a Youth Organizer!

    Location: Richmond, CA

    Compensation: ~ $30/hr depending on experience

    Expected Hours: 4:30pm - 6:00pm Thursdays (opportunities to fill in on weekends as well)

    About Us:

    Welcome to Tiny Village Spirit! We're not just a project; we're a movement dedicated to tackling the emergency shelter crisis and advocating for housing justice. Our approach is innovative yet grounded in community organizing efforts aimed at fostering systemic change.

    What You'll Do:

    • Collaboratively craft and lead youth training sessions, empowering 16-24-year-olds with leadership and advocacy skills.
    • Serve as a trusted mentor, guiding and supporting youth on their personal and advocacy journeys.
    • Harness the power of Google Suite to organize and manage our youth programs efficiently.
    • Form genuine connections with diverse youth, building relationships rooted in trust and support.
    • Embrace the outdoors and community engagement, making a tangible impact where it matters most.
    • Engage with funders and stakeholders through meetings, ensuring alignment with our mission and securing support for our initiatives.
    • Conduct public presentations to raise awareness about our project and advocate for housing justice within the community.
    • Serve as a spokesperson for our project, comfortable communicating with media sources to represent our mission and goals effectively.
    • Bonus points for your teaching experience, especially in creating interactive and engaging learning environments.

    Who You Are:

    • You're deeply committed to social justice and tackling the homelessness crisis head-on.
    • Your communication skills are top-notch, especially in engaging youth from BIPOC communities.
    • Whether working independently or within a team, you bring enthusiasm and collaboration to the table.
    • Flexibility is your middle name, readily adapting to evening and summer hours.
    • You resonate with the mission and values of Tiny Village Spirit, bringing passion to everything you do.
    • Ideally, you have experience in organizing, social work, teaching, or related fields, showcasing your dedication to social justice and youth empowerment.
