Director of Development

Fundraising Strategy and Implementation

• Develop and execute a fundraising and advancement plan to support EPIC's programs and initiatives
• Set and achieve ambitious fundraising goals, with a particular emphasis on individual and major gifts
• Develop personalized cultivation, stewardship, and advancement strategies for major donors, including high-net-worth individuals and foundations
• Create and manage a portfolio of major gift prospects and donors
• Spearhead advancement initiatives to increase EPIC's visibility to philanthropy in the environmental policy sector

Donor Relations and Stewardship

• Build and maintain strong relationships with current and prospective donors and coordinate and manage other senior staff efforts to do so.
• Organize and host donor events, including intimate gatherings
• Collaborate with EPIC's leadership to engage board members in fundraising and advancement activities

Grant Writing and Management

• Oversee the grant writing process, including research, proposal development, and reporting
• Maintain relationships with foundation partners and identify new grant opportunities
• Ensure compliance with grant requirements and deadlines
• Leverage grant funding to advance EPIC's mission and expand its influence

Fundraising and Advancement Operations

• Manage the development team and oversee day-to-day fundraising and advancement operations
• Implement and maintain a donor database system to track and analyze fundraising efforts
• Develop fundraising and advancement materials, including case statements, donor communications, and annual reports
• Collaborate with the communications team to create compelling fundraising messages and advancement campaigns
• Lead strategic initiatives to enhance EPIC's reputation and position in the environmental policy landscape
