    About the Program:

    The Lake County Teacher Residency program offers a rigorous, one-year teacher training program designed for talented, committed professionals who passionately believe that all students deserve a quality education. Our Master’s Degree Programs are designed to prepare you to teach in high-needs schools in the Lake County Area ( North Chicago & Waukegan).

    Lake County Teacher Residency program is a recognized leader in teacher training. The residency is an intensive and supportive program that develops highly-effective teachers through master’s level coursework partnered with an in-classroom experience with guidance from expert coaches and mentors. By combining theory and practice, participants receive the tools they need to become successful educators in Lake County and beyond. Upon completion of the Master's Degree Program, residents will be fully licensed to teach in Illinois and will be placed in a full time teaching position in Lake County.

    What Makes Round Lake Residency Program so Unique?

    Graduate Level Coursework: Earn a Master of Education upon completion of the program.

    Urban Teaching Experience: Spend the year student-teaching in an extended clinical experience. One-on-One Coaching :Receive personalized feedback and support from an expert Mentor Resident Coach.

    Job Placement: Interview for a position to teach in a high needs School.

    Tuition, Scholarships and Financial Aid Information:

    As a resident, you will enroll at DePaul University. Tuition is approximately $20,400 for one year. All residents receive a $22,100 training scholarship (paid directly to you) which can be applied to tuition or used towards living costs.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree at the start of the program Preferred
    • GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale
    • U.S. Citizen, national, or permanent resident
    • Physical Requirements: Light Work: Exerting up to twenty (20) pounds of force occasionally, or up to ten (10) pounds of force frequently, or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Physical demands include the ability to stand for a long period of time
