    Description

    Environmental Leaders of Color, a Mount Vernon-based non-profit organization, spearheads a program to impart advanced computer science education to high school students from socially and economically vulnerable backgrounds. Our Technology & The Environment Saturday morning program introduces students to Python and Blockchain during the upcoming fall semester. It presents a compelling opportunity for college students with expertise and familiarity with Blockchain.

    We are seeking a candidate who can:

    • Commit to instructing high school students who possess sufficient experience and knowledge in Blockchain.
    • The classes are scheduled from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon on Saturdays at the SUNY Westchester - Mount Vernon Extension.
    • The selected individual will be responsible for aiding students during coding sessions and facilitating the Blockchain segment of the curriculum.
    • Moreover, the candidate must demonstrate an ability to engage with high school students and offer personalized assistance to those who may encounter comprehension challenges.
    • A dedication to fostering social and environmental justice within communities is imperative.

    Eligible candidates should be:

    1. eighteen years or older,
    2. available to commute to Mount Vernon on Saturday mornings, and
    3. equipped with a formal background and education in computer science.
