    Job Description:

    The Auschwitz Institute for the Prevention of Genocide and Mass Atrocities (AIPG) seeks a Refugee Protection Program Coordinator to work with its Executive Office. The Refugee Protection Program Coordinator will coordinate the design, implementation and reporting of AIPG’s Refugee Protection Program and will assist the Executive Director in program implementation supervision for all other AIPG departments. The Refugee Protection Program Coordinator will work as part of the Executive Office of the organization. This is a remote position, though the successful candidate who lives near one of AIPG’s office locations may have the option to work in the office if they so choose.

Through education, training, and technical assistance, we support governments and other actors to develop or strengthen policies and practices for the prevention of genocide and other mass atrocities.     About AIPG’s Refugee Protection Program:

    Based on its highly successful Refugee Protection Program in Colombia, at the end of 2021, AIPG launched a Global Refugee Protection Program with multi-year strategies for building capacities to prevent atrocities in the midst of migration crises.

    This program has been implemented in Colombia, Brazil, Ecuador, Bosnia Herzegovina, El Salvador, Romania, and Thailand so far. Our work in these countries follows the methodological framework developed by AIPG for a three-year project focused on strengthening atrocity prevention amidst a migration crisis in Latin America. The program is going to expand its activities in new regions and new countries in the next four years.

    Responsibilities:

    The successful candidate will

    1. Coordinate the planning and implementation of the Refugee Protection Program.
    2. Assist the Refugee Protection Program implementation for all AIPG departments implementing the activities of the program.
    3. Coordinate the reporting of the Refugee Protection Program.
    4. Lead fundraising for the Refugee Protection Program.
    5. Perform other duties as required.

    Required Qualifications:

    1. Bachelor's degree in relevant field or equivalent work experience in the atrocity prevention/ human rights sector.
    2. Experience in program design, management and implementation.
    3. Experience in program-focused fundraising.
    4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
    5. Excellent interpersonal and group work skills.
    6. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
    7. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
    8. Microsoft Office Suite proficiency.
    9. Ability and willingness to travel internationally.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    1. Master’s degree in relevant field or equivalent work experience in the atrocity prevention/ human rights sector.
    2. Exposure to atrocity prevention/AIPG programming.

    Basic Position Information:

    1. Full-time, 40 hours per week (this position is not compatible with full or part-time positions held in other entities or with independent consultant projects carries out while employed)
    2. Start date: Immediate, applications will be reviewed until the position is filled
    3. Salary: USD 40,000 - 50,000 (based on location and experience)
    4. Benefits: Full benefits provided after successful completion of 3-month probationary period.
