    TITLE: Associate Director of Individual Giving

    FLSA: EXEMPT

    LEAD: Chief Strategy Officer

    SUMMARY: The Associate Director of Individual Giving plays a key role in expanding and strengthening PMD Alliance’s individual giving program, focusing on growing the recurring donation program, ensuring efficient donation processing, and developing and managing a robust grants program. As a strategic thinker and creative problem solver, this position works closely with senior leadership to design and implement integrated fundraising strategies, engage and retain donors, and oversee contractors to support PMD Alliance’s mission and financial sustainability. The Associate Director contributes to the organization’s long-term success by developing impactful fundraising initiatives and building strong, lasting relationships with donors.

      Duties specific to the Associate Director of Individual Giving role:

      Fundraising Strategy & Stewardship

      • Develop and implement a comprehensive individual giving strategy to increase donations from individuals.
      • Lead fundraising campaigns that engage current donors and attract new ones, using a mix of digital, direct mail, and personalized outreach strategies.
      • Create impactful donor communications, including appeals, stewardship materials, and donor impact reports, to strengthen donor relationships and inspire continued support.
      • Own and scale the recurring donation program, identifying opportunities for growth and developing targeted strategies to increase donor retention and engagement.
      • Design and implement donor stewardship plans for recurring donors and Ambassador volunteers to deepen engagement, build loyalty, and maximize lifetime value.
      • Leverage data insights to refine strategies, assess donor behavior, and enhance the donor experience.
      • Collaborate with the Chief Advancement Officer to identify potential major donor prospects and support their cultivation, ensuring a seamless transition of leads for stewardship.
      • Partner with the Communications team to integrate fundraising messaging with overall organizational communications, ensuring consistency and reinforcing donor engagement.
      • Work across departments to ensure that fundraising efforts align with PMD Alliance’s programmatic and community engagement activities.
      • Oversee the timely acknowledgment of all donations, ensuring high-touch, personalized stewardship for donors at all levels.
      • Collaborate with senior leadership to identify a process and pipeline of potential major donors
      • Oversee donor recognition initiatives, ensuring that donors feel valued and connected to PMD Alliance’s mission and impact.

      Grants

      • Collaborate with the Communications team and relevant contractors to develop a robust and sustainable grants program that supports PMD Alliance’s funding needs.
      • Lead the identification and research of new grant opportunities, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and maximizing potential for funding.
      • Lead the preparation and submission of grant proposals, ensuring they are compelling, high-quality, and effectively showcase PMD Alliance’s mission, impact, and funding priorities.
      • Develop and maintain a calendar of grant deadlines and reporting requirements, ensuring that all grants are submitted on time and in compliance with funder guidelines.
      • Work with relevant contractors and internal teams to ensure that grant reports are submitted on time, and that all grant funding is properly stewarded and documented.
      • Monitor and track fulfillment of grant requirements, ensuring that reporting is timely, transparent, and reflects the measurable impact of funded projects.
      • Develop strategies for increasing grant funding over time, identifying opportunities for renewal, reapplication, and new funding sources.

      Development Operations

      • Oversee donation entry and acknowledgment processes, ensuring efficient, accurate handling of all donations and quick turnaround on thank-you communications.
      • Manage external relevant contractors, ensuring deliverables are met and that contractors’ work aligns with PMD Alliance’s goals and standards.
      • Optimize fundraising operations, improving efficiency in donation processing, data management, and donor communications.
      • Ensure donor data integrity, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records for all supporters and funding sources.
      • Other duties as assigned

      Minimal Requirements:

      • High school diploma required
      • 3+ years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, development, or a similar field
      • Experience with Salesforce and Asana
      • Extreme comfort using and learning new technology
      • Proven success in designing and implementing fundraising strategies and securing diverse revenue streams
      • Strong technical proficiency and ability to work with various software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
      • Critical thinking skills and ability to create efficient, user-centric processes
      • Strong multitasking and leadership abilities in fast-paced, changing environments
      • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and team collaboration
      • Exceptional integrity, customer service, and problem-solving skills
      • Comfortable with remote work and telecommunication tools
      • Experience communicating with high-value partners
      • Strong written and verbal communication skills
      • Knowledge of movement disorders and their impact on families preferred
      • Self-motivated, able to work independently with minimal supervision
      • Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and work with interdisciplinary teams
      • Ability to travel (15% overnight travel required)
