    Position Overview

    Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company seeks a visionary and experienced Director of Development to lead our fundraising efforts and guide our development team. This senior leadership role will shape the future of Woolly Mammoth’s philanthropic endeavors by building and executing robust fundraising strategies that align with our mission and core values.

    Level of Language Proficiency

    Leadership & Collaboration

      • Serve as a strategic partner on Woolly’s senior leadership team, contributing to long-term planning, financial management, and decision-making.
      • Collaborate with the Board of Directors, attending and supporting the Nominating and External Relations Committees.
      • Promote Woolly’s commitment to anti-racism and radical inclusivity in all aspects of leadership and collaboration.

    Management & Capacity-Building

      • Supervise, mentor, and inspire the Development team, including the Individual Giving Manager, Engagement & Events Associate, Grants Manager, Institutional Giving Consultant, and Development Operations Manager.
      • Build department capacity to achieve annual revenue goals, aligning staffing and resources with organizational growth priorities.

    Fundraising Strategy & Donor Relations

      • Design and execute comprehensive multi-channel fundraising strategies, with a focus on major gifts, institutional grants, corporate giving, and planned giving.
      • Oversee individual donor cultivation and solicitation, leveraging relationships with key stakeholders.
      • Strategically plan and lead fundraising events, including Woolly’s gala and donor cultivation activities.
      • Collaborate on the planning and execution of capital campaigns to support organizational growth.

    Development Operations

      • Ensure efficient donor data management and analysis using Tessitura CRM.
      • Foster cross-department collaboration to align development strategies with marketing and programming goals.
      • Stay informed about emerging fundraising technologies to enhance the team’s efficiency and impact.
