    Job Title: Employment Readiness Facilitator

    SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

    This is a part-time, in-person position within the Education & Career Services Department reporting to the YouthBuild Program Manager. The position is responsible for providing regular employment readiness and vocational instruction to young adults engaged in NMIC’s YouthBuild program. They will also support select employment readiness workshops for NMIC’s adult career program and partner organizations.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Establish and maintain a regular schedule of instruction.
    • Facilitate employment readiness workshops, including but not limited to resume development, interview skills, professional communication, and networking.
    • Facilitate training towards certifications in customer service, digital literacy, and Microsoft office for NMIC clients and partner agencies.
    • Update and adapt lesson plans and materials as necessary to promote client participation and engagement.
    • Support the planning and execution of career exploration activities with partner organizations. This includes communicating with and orienting volunteers, and attending sessions at NMIC and at partner organizations.
    • Uphold Education & Career Services standards for appropriate behavior through adept classroom management.
    • Document participants’ progress through case notes as required.
    • Support intake activities for NMIC’s YouthBuild program, including client outreach, participating in intake interviews, and leading orientation activities.
    • Attend YouthBuild staff meetings and participate in case conferencing and other programmatic activities as needed.
    • Administer TABE assessments as required (training provided).

    Additional related responsibilities may be assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • BA in education or a related field preferred, equivalent experience will be considered.
    • Experience teaching/facilitation to groups of 10 to 25 people.
    • Experience working with disconnected young adults (17-24)
    • Ability to collaborate and work well as part of team.
    • Experience creating and developing creative lessons and curriculum a plus.
    • Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred.

    SALARY:

    The hourly pay for this position is $28.65 per hour for 20 hours per week. This is a part-time position and is not benefits eligible.
