    Description

    The School of Education at Hunter College is looking for a part-time (15-20 hours per week) College Assistant who will be responsible for performing administrative duties supporting the Office of Clinical Experiences (OCE). The Office of Clinical Experiences is responsible for facilitating the clinical teaching experiences for teacher candidates in the School of Education.

    Specific Duties:

    • Entering, manipulating, and updating information using Microsoft Word, Excel and Google (e.g., Docs, Sheets and Slides).
    • Gathering, sorting, and routing information and materials to schools, faculty, staff and students
    • Compiling and maintaining a variety of records and files online.
    • Corresponding with students, faculty, staff, and school administrators.
    • Processing students’ applications for clinical experience courses. Perform related duties as assigned.
    • Review and route incoming emails; distributes correspondence to department faculty/staff.
    • Update records ensuring accuracy and validity of information
    • Process and create mail merges for a collection of documents

    Qualifications:

    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including strong oral and written skills are essential
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive matters with discretion and tact
    • Ability to work within a team and independently
    • Excellent computer skills (Google Workspace, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint - Access is a plus)
    • Detail-oriented
    • Manage multiple tasks that are time-sensitive; have the ability to prioritize.
    • Reliable and prompt
    • Self- starter
    • Excellent computer skills (e.g., mail merging, manipulation of Excel spreadsheets).
    • Ability to identify creative solutions to complete processes.

    Requirements:

    Bachelor’s degree. Prior administrative experience preferred.
