    Description

    The Assessment Coordinator is vital to LBFE’s mission by evaluating newly referred Cantonese-speaking older adults for program eligibility. This position involves conducting in-person assessments and loneliness screenings to determine suitability for LBFE’s services. The Coordinator will collaborate closely with the LBFE team to integrate eligible older adults into the VisitingVolunteer Program.

    • Under the direction of the Executive Director, ensure that the program is being effectively delivered by facilitating site visits, volunteer orientations, and elder check-ins.
    • Using the tools provided, evaluate volunteers and older adults to ensure they are well. That program feedback is captured

    Work with the volunteer coordinator to help recruit Cantonese bi-lingual volunteers.

    • Maintain communications between older adults, volunteers, and organizations.
    • Recruitment of elders and networking with social workers
    • Coordinate the assessment of newly referred older adults and work withthe Program Coordinator to get them into the Visiting Volunteer program
    • Provide regular program updates to the Executive Director
    • Update and maintain all documents on the program
    • Other team projects as needed

    Speaking

    Must be fluent in both Cantonese and English, with the ability to effectively communicate with Cantonese-speaking clients, caregivers, and community partners.

    Able to provide real-time verbal translation between Cantonese and English in meetings, phone calls, and events.

    Strong interpersonal skills to engage with diverse populations in a culturally sensitive manner.

    Writing:

    Proficient in reading and writing in Traditional Chinese and English.

    Ability to draft, translate, and proofread documents, including outreach materials, reports, emails, and program updates.

    Skilled in writing professional correspondence

    • Experience working with older adults and/or have direct experience working with a variety of community members.
    • Computer competence, including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, iPads, Google Suites, and Salesforce
    • Ability to provide support in getting the older adult connected to Wi-Fi
    • Ability to work effectively with diverse volunteers, staff, older adults, and community members
    • Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate a high degree of integrity
    • Strong problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment
    • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
