    Description

    SUMMARY

    USA for UNHCR seeks a Learning and Development Business Partner to execute the vision and strategy for talent development across USA for UNHCR as outlined by senior leadership. This role focuses on supporting the design of training programs and leading their execution, managing deliverables, and embedding diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) principles into all initiatives. The position also provides support to the Senior HR Business Partner on performance management initiatives and other related programs.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Support the design and execution of training programs: Collaborate with key stakeholders to design effective learning programs and lead their implementation, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and DEIB principles.
    • Assist with performance management initiatives: Provide support to the Senior HR Business Partner by helping coordinate feedback mechanisms, coaching sessions, and appraisals as part of the performance management process.
    • Deliver DEIB-focused learning programs: Design and execute scalable training programs and materials (e.g., workshops, toolkits, and job aids) to deepen the integration of DEIB across teams and functions.
    • Compliance and mandatory training: Ensure the timely delivery of annual compliance training and other required organizational learning.
    • Stakeholder collaboration: Work closely with teams to understand specific learning needs and deliver solutions such as social learning, mentoring programs, or customized training initiatives. Develop training curricula and implement business solutions while measuring effectiveness through established metrics.
    • Use of assessments and data: Leverage assessments and data analysis to inform best practices and identify additional training opportunities for staff development.
    • Leadership support: Coach and support leaders in applying development plans that build leadership capability.
    • Innovation and application: Explore innovative learning methods to drive organizational change and create practical application opportunities
    • Other duties as assigned.

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    • 5-7 years in learning and development, training, or organizational development (non profit experience preferred). Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, Business Administration, or related field required; PHR or SHRM-CP preferred.
    • In lieu of education/degree requirements a successful candidate will have:
      • Strong organizational and communication skills.
      • Anticipate office and team needs and take a proactive approach to problem-solving.
      • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with HRIS systems.
      • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing situations.
    • Experience in developing and implementing learning and development strategies and programs.
    • Familiarity with diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging (DEIB) initiatives and their integration into L&D programs.
    • Proficient in learning management systems (LMS) and other relevant learning technologies.
    • Knowledge of various training methods, including instructor-led sessions, e-learning, and blended learning approaches; Facilitating engaging training sessions in both virtual and in-person formats.
    • Understanding of organizational structures, compliance requirements, and how learning initiatives support broader HR and business objectives.
    • Familiarity with performance management tools and processes to support the execution of appraisals and feedback initiatives.
    • Familiarity with various methods, including in-person, virtual, and blended learning approaches.
    • Working with teams to address learning needs and deliver training solutions effectively; Adjust training delivery to meet audience requirements and address immediate needs.
    • Managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
    • Oversee and track mandatory training programs to ensure completion and compliance.
    • Offer observations and insights to improve training delivery and outcomes

    WORK LOCATION

    Hybrid + New York, NY + May also involve travel to some locations within the company’s region of operations and select donor locations.

    COMPENSATION

    $91,178 – $109,414
