    About One Acre Fund

    Founded in 2006, One Acre Fund supplies 1 million smallholder farmers with the agricultural services they need to make their farms vastly more productive. Our 8,000+ team is drawn from diverse backgrounds and professions. With operations across six core countries in Africa, we make farmers more prosperous by providing quality farm supplies on credit, delivered within walking distance of farmers' homes, and agricultural training to improve harvests. On average, our farmers harvest 50 percent more food after working with One Acre Fund.

    About the Role

    The Mandate of the Market Access Team is to start up agribusinesses that work for smallholder farmers, focusing on high value products such as macadamia, avocado and Fresh Fruits. You will help pilot new programs as they move from early stage trials to large-scale. You will report to the Aggregation and Extension Supervisor in the Market Access Team. This role is fully #LI-onsite.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop knowledge of the standard market requirements
    • Conduct in-person trainings to farmers about good agricultural practices
    • Organize sourcing from farmers, paying farmers and keeping records
    • Ensure quality standards are met and monitor all activities
    • Ensure accurate reconciliation between purchased and delivered products
    • Manage Independent Contractors at the Buying Center and/or site

    Qualifications

    Across all roles, these are the general qualifications we look for. For this role specifically, you will have:

    • At least 6 months of experience in farmer extension services, macadamia and/or avocado farming, buying, or processing.
    • A strong passion for serving smallholder farmers and contributing to rural development.
    • Knowledge of the avocado and macadamia value chain, including varieties, quality standards, and seasonality.
    • Strong numeric and data collection skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • National ID card
    • Minimum education: KCSE/Certificate/Diploma
    • Fluent in English and Kiswahili

    As soon as possible
