    Description

    The Program Manager will oversee a STEM high school mentorship program involving 2,000 NYC area students and 600 mentors.

    Responsibilities:

    Provide programmatic support for mentoring program including but not limited to (80% of position):

    • Oversee the recruitment and communication with volunteers;
    • Organize and facilitate virtual and in-person events for volunteers including professional development sessions and appreciation events;
    • Plan year-end showcases for students' work; and
    • Assist in the preparation of communication materials, and forms as needed.

    Provide general administrative support including but not limited to (20% of position):

    • Assist with staffing board committees and providing leadership and guidance based on experience with volunteers and students;
    • Assist with the production of Board meeting materials and the coordination of Board meeting logistics;
    • Assist with the organization and implementation of fundraising events;
    • Maintain program files and ensure that all information is easy to access; and
    • Handle other duties and special projects as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    • An undergraduate degree with four to six years of prior work experience, preferably in a nonprofit organization.
    • Strong organizational writing, editing, and verbal communications skills are a must.
    • Excellent critical thinking skills with ability to exercise discretion.
    • Commitment to superior, accurate, professional work product.
    • Able to prioritize and complete multiple tasks in a timely manner.
    • Experienced team player with ability to work independently.
    • High level of interpersonal skills.
    • Experience with volunteer management and/or NYC high schools is a plus but not required.
