    Description

    Irish Community Services, a non-profit dedicated to serving the needs of the Irish and wider immigrant community, is looking for a motivated professional with strong programming experience to develop and manage a variety of community programs including wellness initiatives, educational campaigns, group programs and short-term crisis support.

    Responsibilities:

    • Develop new and manage existing community wellness initiatives such as classes, symposiums, social gatherings, referrals, and once-off community events.
    • Build meaningful and impactful partnerships with community-based and governmental organizations, both within the Irish community and within the wider community services landscape of Chicago.
    • Develop resources and guidance for students from Ireland who are here in the US on summer internships.
    • Offer short-term case management services to community members
    • Administer a direct financial assistance program

    Essential Requirements

    • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in community programming or social services working directly with groups and/or individuals.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Familiarity with or interest in Ireland, Irish culture, or an Irish community, either in Ireland, Chicago or elsewhere.
    • College degree is preferred.

    Note: Must be authorized to work in the US for this role without restrictions.

Since then, our programs and community have grown and we offer a variety of support and engagement opportunities including senior groups, toddler groups, immigration programs, community wellness initiatives, summer travel program, and short-term support for individuals in crisis.
