    Mindbridge is a nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming the impact of human rights and social justice work by integrating cutting-edge psychological and neurobiological science. We conduct research to understand the drivers of hate, extremism, perseverance, and healing, applying our findings to design effective interventions and programs. Our work addresses challenges such as domestic terrorism, racism, human trafficking, and the erosion of reproductive freedoms. Through collaboration with government and community-based organizations, we develop holistic approaches to societal transformation, equipping human rights defenders with the tools to create meaningful change.

    Position Summary

    Mindbridge is seeking an experienced and visionary Interim Executive Director to lead the organization during a 12-month sabbatical leave of its current Executive Director. The Interim Executive Director will provide strategic leadership, oversee program implementation, and ensure the sustainability and growth of Mindbridge’s initiatives. This role requires a leader with a deep understanding of the intersection of psychology, neuroscience, and human rights, as well as the ability to manage operations, fundraising, and partnerships.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Strategic Leadership: Provide overall leadership and direction to ensure alignment with Mindbridge’s mission and goals.
    • Program Oversight: Oversee the implementation and evaluation of programs, ensuring they meet organizational standards and objectives.
    • Fundraising and Development: Lead fundraising efforts, including donor relations, grant writing, and securing financial resources to support Mindbridge’s work.
    • Team Management: Supervise and support staff, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
    • Financial Management: Ensure sound financial practices, including budgeting, monitoring expenses, and reporting to the Board of Directors.
    • Partnership Building: Maintain and strengthen relationships with government agencies, community organizations, and other stakeholders.
    • Communications: Represent Mindbridge to external audiences, promoting the organization’s mission and programs.

    Qualifications

    • Education: PhD in social psychology, clinical psychology (with relevance to applied human rights work), social cognitive neuroscience, or a related field.
    • Experience: At least 5 years of leadership experience in a nonprofit or mission-driven organization, with a track record of managing teams and programs.
    • Expertise: Deep understanding of the psychological and neurobiological drivers of human behavior, particularly as they relate to human rights and social justice issues.
    • Skills:
      • Proven ability to lead fundraising and development efforts.
      • Strong organizational and financial management skills.
      • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
      • Experience building and maintaining partnerships across sectors.
    • Values: Commitment to equity, inclusion, and the advancement of human rights.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience designing or implementing data-driven interventions for societal transformation.
    • Familiarity with the challenges faced by human rights defenders and marginalized communities.
    • Previous experience serving in an interim leadership role.

    Compensation

    This position offers a competitive salary of $100,000 annually, along with additional benefits such as retirement contributions and professional development opportunities. Health insurance can be made available by request.
