About Us:Founded in 2009, The African SOUP is a Ugandan-led, indigenous NGO with roots in rural Nabikabala Village where it serves over 900 children and families with community designed-programs that are creating lasting solutions to fight poverty and fueling a push for national education reform. Our community programs include a nursery and primary school totaling more than 750 children; a scholarship program for SOUP graduates to attend secondary school; and a home visitation program serving 120 families and 50 pregnant mothers across 16 villages. Our drive for education reform centers around active learning, which we model at our School.
Position Overview: The Chief Development Officer is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive fundraising strategy to drive growth in revenue and increase donor engagement. This person will report to the US Board Chair and will work closely with the leadership team in Uganda and the US Board to ensure fundraising efforts are aligned with programmatic priorities. In addition, the Chief Development Officer will be engaged in strategic planning, assist with the budgeting process and provide financial oversight for all donations received. This person is expected to lead ethically, compassionately, and in accordance with organizational values as outlined within the Human Resource Manual as well as other documents.

Location:
We are seeking a candidate based in Atlanta, GA. While the position will primarily be remote, there will be occasional in-person meetings and events with Board Members, donors, and other stakeholders.
