    About the 1.5°Climate Strategies Group

    The 1.5°Climate Strategies Group (1.5°Climate) is a nationally recognized donor collaborative that is focused on identifying a comprehensive range of impactful and equitable climate solutions and mobilizing the necessary philanthropic resources to rapidly catalyze and scale up these solutions. Our organization prides itself on promoting collaboration as a means of effecting change.

    1.5°Climate hosts biweekly organizational quick pitch presentations enabling members to make direct investments in impactful organizations working in the nexus between climate and policy. Our goal is to present a wide variety of pre-vetted investment opportunities to members that can deliver gap filling and catalytic climate impacts.

    About the Position

    The Development Coordinator will assist 1.5°Climate staff and consultants with efforts to grow and engage the donor collaborative’s membership, thereby increasing the amount of funding we are able to raise for climate solutions. We are looking for a motivated individual who has a desire to develop new skills and proficiencies, and wants an opportunity to grow and advance in their career. This is a contract, remote, full-time position with flexible hours.

    Responsibilities

    • Research and identify prospective new donors.
    • Conduct research to better understand our existing membership and identify opportunities to leverage connections.
    • Reach out to and foster relationships with members.
    • Assist in writing and publishing materials to capture 1.5°Climate’s impact and recruit new members.
    • Organize and maintain our CRM database of existing and prospective members.
    • Explore tools and platforms to strengthen our membership recruitment and development efforts; provide recommendations and take the lead on implementing those that are approved.
    • Work closely with 1.5°Climate’s lead development consultant to manage project workflow and oversee day to day tasks.
    • Word closely with 1.5°Climate’s development committee to identify opportunities and execute strategies developed by the committee where appropriate.
    • Support other 1.5°Climate programs as appropriate.

    Qualifications

    • Passion for the organization's mission and a strong desire to support impactful climate solutions.
    • At least two years of experience working in a relevant role. We especially welcome individuals who have nonprofit fundraising or electoral campaign management experience, as well as grant writing experience.
    • Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
    • Strong research skills.
    • Ability to work collaboratively with a small and nimble team.
    • Desire to develop new skills and grow in this position.

    While 1.5°Climate is unable to offer benefits to 1099 contractors, compensation will account for benefit-related costs that the contractor may incur.
