    THE OPPORTUNITY

    Tenants Queensland is seeking to fill a vacancy for the role of Financial Counsellor:

    Full-Time position

    This is a fixed-term contract until December 2025, with the possibility of extension.

    As a Financial Counsellor, you'll be extending our range of tenant advisory services for Queensland residential renters, playing a critical role in empowering and supporting our clients.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Deliver high-quality financial counselling services to residential tenants
    • Provide expert advice and support on financial matters related to tenancy
    • Advocate for tenants in financial disputes
    • Conduct thorough assessments of clients' financial situations
    • Develop tailored financial plans and strategies for clients
    • Collaborate with legal professionals and other team members to ensure the best outcomes for clients
    • Contribute to community education initiatives on financial literacy for tenants

    ABOUT YOU

    With a commitment to the principles of social justice, you will support TQ's mission by role modeling our values of empowerment and respect. You'll possess:

    • At least three to five years' experience in delivering financial counselling services
    • Strong understanding of social justice principles
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to empathize and work with diverse communities
    • Analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities
    • Proficiency in client information management systems and Microsoft Office suite

    Mandatory Requirements:

    You must hold, or be eligible to hold, an associate or accredited membership of the Financial Counsellors Association of Queensland.

    Qualifications:

    • Relevant qualifications in financial counselling
