    City Harvest pioneered food rescue in 1982 and, this year will collect more than 1000 million pounds of excess food to help feed the nearly 1.4 million New Yorkers struggling to put meals on their tables. Through relationships with farms, restaurants, grocers, and manufacturers, City Harvest collects nutritious food that would otherwise go to waste and delivers it free of charge to 400 soup kitchens, food pantries, and other community food programs across the five boroughs.     PRIMARY PURPOSE

    City Harvest is looking for a dynamic and results-driven fundraising professional to join our team as Manager, Business Partnerships. This is an exciting opportunity for a proven fundraiser to drive revenue growth, cultivate high-impact corporate partnerships, and play a key role in securing the resources needed to fuel our mission.

    As a fundraising leader in this external-facing role, you will engage with some of City Harvest’s largest corporate donors, managing single initiatives and multi-faceted annual campaigns. You will take the lead on securing corporate revenue for sponsorships and special events, including multi-million-dollar campaigns, ensuring the Business Partnerships team meets and exceeds revenue goals.

    The ideal candidate brings a strong fundraising foundation, relationship-building expertise, and a strategic mindset to identify and capitalize on new corporate giving opportunities. You will manage a curated portfolio, steward corporate partners, and collaborate cross-functionally to drive innovative sponsorships and fundraising initiatives that expand City Harvest’s impact.

    RESPONSIBILITIES     

    The Manager, Business Partnerships will drive and grow a portfolio of current, lapsed, and prospective donors, ensuring strategic cultivation and engagement across City Harvest’s sponsorship opportunities. In this role, you will:

      • Manage and Grow a Revenue-Generating Portfolio – Cultivate, solicit, and steward a portfolio of corporate donors and prospects, driving revenue to support City Harvest’s mission and fundraising goals.
      • Develop and Execute Fundraising Strategies – Design and implement creative approaches to secure new corporate support, increase multi-year commitments, and maximize donor engagement across sponsorship opportunities.
      • Create Innovative Partnerships – Work with the Director and Associate Director to develop compelling sponsorship proposals and activation strategies, ensuring alignment between corporate objectives and City Harvest’s mission.
      • Expand the Prospect Pipeline – Identify and research potential corporate partners across industries, targeting companies aligned with City Harvest’s campaigns and initiatives.
      • Identify and Drive Growth Opportunities – Participate in strategic planning sessions to uncover new fundraising opportunities, emerging corporate trends, and innovative collaborations that expand City Harvest’s reach and revenue.
      • Co-manage the Annual Repack to Give Back Campaign – Co-manage the planning, execution, and expansion of this signature corporate engagement event, driving revenue growth, securing new sponsors, and managing cross-functional collaboration to meet financial goals.
      • Management and Mentorship – Ability to manage and mentor team members, fostering their growth in fundraising skills and expertise.
      • Additional responsibilities as needed

    EXPERIENCE:

      • Bachelor’s degree and equivalent experience.
      • Candidates must have a proven track record in fundraising, successfully securing five- and six-figure corporate gifts. A minimum of five years of experience in corporate fundraising is required, with a strong background in cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding corporate donors. Experience in the nonprofit sector is essential, particularly in campaign, capacity-building, and special events fundraising.

    Related Skills or Knowledge

      • Proven ability to secure five- and six-figure corporate gifts, including sponsorships, annual, and multi-year commitments.
      • Experience in managing or mentoring staff, including temporary employees, interns, and junior team members.
      • Experience building and managing corporate relationships that drive revenue and increase brand awareness.
      • Strong proposal development skills, with a track record of securing funding through clear and compelling pitches.
      • Ability to identify and cultivate new funding opportunities, maintaining a robust donor pipeline.
      • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
      • Collaborative team player who can also work independently to drive results.
      • Familiarity with corporate social responsibility trends, including sustainability, and communications.
      • Experience using Raiser’s Edge NXT or similar CRM platforms.
