The Council of State Governments (CSG) Justice Center works across the country to develop research-driven strategies to increase public safety and strengthen communities. How you'll fit in:
The CSG Justice Center is seeking three (3) full-time project managers to provide expert guidance to states advancing new policies and practices to achieve public safety goals as part of the Justice Counts project. Justice Counts is a national initiative to improve the accessibility and usability of criminal justice data. Justice Counts is founded on the belief that sharing criminal justice data should be easy. Justice Counts provides tools, resources, and support to help agencies achieve this vision and to help decision-makers most effectively use criminal justice data.
We will be hiring three project managers, each supporting a unique body of work within the Justice Counts project.
More information about the nuances of each role can be found below. Candidates will be asked to identify their preferred position at the time of applying. The project managers will work as core team members to expand the reach of Justice Counts, ensure robust data sharing and availability, and help policy makers use Justice Counts data to improve criminal justice outcomes.
What you'll do:
Recruitment: The project manager, justice counts recruitment will supervise and lead a team to implement strategies with the goal of achieving the participation of 65 percent or more of all criminal justice agencies in Justice Counts. This work involves leading their team in identifying key contacts, coordinating and conducting outreach, and persuading new states and agencies to participate in Justice Counts. Core responsibilities include building relationships, deploying recruitment and outreach strategies, devising and implementing tracking systems, identifying and preparing communications and materials for recruiting efforts, and coordinating with other Justice Counts teams to ensure a seamless handoff from the recruitment phase to data publishing through to impact.
Data: The project manager, justice counts data will work as a core team member to ensure robust data sharing and availability through Justice Counts. They are responsible for supervising and leading a team implementing the core strategies that will allow for easy data sharing between criminal justice agencies and Justice Counts. These responsibilities include forging partnerships, developing automations, and creating other scalable solutions for data sharing. They will support efforts to craft Justice Counts data into compelling stories and develop and deploy tools and resources to maximize the impact of Justice Counts data in advancing public safety, equity, and fairness.
Impact: The project manager, justice counts impact will empower criminal justice leaders and policymakers to use data for smarter decisions and better community outcomes. As a supervisor and leader on the team, they translate big-picture goals into actionable plans, build strong relationships with agency leaders, and promote Justice Counts tools as essential for data-driven progress nationwide. They also play a key role in supporting, coaching, and supervising Impact team members to ensure high performance and effective collaboration. These "Impact Strategists" create resources using Justice Counts data to meet leaders' needs, advocate for the power of data to improve decisions, and develop strategies to expand Justice Counts' influence across the country.

CSG believes that pay equity and pay transparency advance workplace fairness. Compensation will be equitable and based on experience and geography. The salary range for this position is $81,000 - $122,500. Salary ranges are subject to change based on work location and market conditions.
Our organization offers flexibility in work arrangements, allowing for remote work or a hybrid model. Candidates residing in the NYC metropolitan area will be considered for hybrid model employment.
