Thanks to our network of hundreds of non-profits, we can leverage our expertise across any number of areas — including health and human services, arts and culture, and education — to care for Jews everywhere and New Yorkers of all backgrounds, respond to crises close to home and far away, and shape our Jewish future. Our reach extends from New York to Israel to nearly 70 other countries around the world, touching 4.5 million people each year.

We are eager to hire a Director of Business Analytics and Reporting to join UJA-Federation of NY, a growth organization and the world’s largest local philanthropy. The Growth team is focused on using data, technology, and analytics to optimize the performance of the organization. We are interested in meeting exceptional talent who will help us move our mission forward.

The Director of Business Analytics and Reporting will lead and drive the analytics and reporting team of the organization. This role will involve leading a team of analysts to develop and maintain reporting platforms, driving insights through analytics, and fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making. The director will align closely with various business units to ensure data resources are centralized, secure, reliable, and standardized.

    Responsibilities:

    • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of data analysts, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment. Define Data & Analytics function strategy, opportunity, roadmap, and priorities.
    • Report and Dashboard Development: Oversee the creation and maintenance of detailed, insight-oriented reports and dashboards that support business decision-making
    • Data Alignment: Ensure alignment of reporting and analytics across various business units. Work with cross departmental team to define metrics, guidelines, and strategies for effective use of data.
    • Continuous Improvement: Continually refine reporting processes and dashboard designs to enhance performance, quality, and alignment with business needs.
    • Insights-driven Analytics: Conduct and oversee analyses to provide actionable insights for business decision-making.
    • Reporting Adoption: Champion the latest reporting technologies and methodologies and ensure staff is appropriately trained
    • Governance: Implement data governance practices, ensuring documentation, consistency, and transparency.
    • Self-Service Enablement: Develop and promote self-service data capabilities to empower staff to access their own data. Experience instilling a culture of ownership, collaboration, and results.

    Qualifications:

    • Experience: At least 10 years of experience in data analysis, reporting, and analytics, with a proven track record in driving insights at a senior level of an organization.
    • Technical Expertise: Advanced proficiency in SQL, reporting tools (preferably PowerBI), and analytical tools.
    • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
    • Leadership Abilities: Strong leadership, mentoring, and team-building skills with the ability to drive a culture of data-driven excellence. Ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
    • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with various teams and stakeholders including strong experience supporting a management team. Proficient verbal and written skills to communicate effectively.

    Compensation:

The compensation range for this role is $142,000-152,000, commensurate with experience.
